Do You Ever Have Second Thoughts on Your Island Name?

In my ACNL games my town was named Crystal and then I think Crescent after a reset, decided I wanted to do something different and named my ACNH island Meridian.
I don't regret it one bit! I love that its geography and astronomy themed, and it sounds islandy to me.

My BF named his island Zenith to match my island name theme too, but sadly he stopped playing. Its a cool name though.

Heh, you're only one letter different than mine, Meridia. I named mine after the Daedric Prince of living things (from the Elder Scrolls series). Meridia is my favorite Daedric Prince, after Sheogorath, of course. (The Isles! The Isles! XD) I considered his name too, or the Shivering Isles, but figured her "life" theme was more fitting to Animal Crossing. Plus it just sounds like a place, you know?

Not yet thank god. I originally wanted to name mine that had the word moon in it. But I realized that if I don’t like it in the future, i’m gonna regret it. So I went to the most basic name to me that I could think of. My New Leaf town name. No Ragrets.

Oh that's awesome!! Its fun to name your island after references, back when I had my New Leaf town named Crystal it was a reference to my favourite Pokemon game
I really like the ring of Meridia / Meridian. It really does sound like an island you'd find adventuring

Bro I feel you. My town's name is Pineby, ****ing Pineby. I DONT KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING.

My second town in NL was twin oaks so I was like "I like trees, maybe I can make a good tree name again" NOPE!

I mean, cmon. I can change almost every single detail about my island but I cant change the name?

Yeah honestly I don't like the... taste/humor of those who choose those LULCORONAPOGGERS names... it being an actual very serious matter and all those people fail to be considerate of, but whatever. I'm very anal about the way I design things, taking my 'brand' of sorts seriously, so I never do stuff like that.

Although I actually restarted my initial island because I was watching a video and the person mentioned restarting his island for the right fruit and I was like... hello... I forgot to do that, was too sucked into playing it. I had oranges (I had oranges in NL) and I just wasn't liking how my game was going at that point I just restarted... I even grinded the Bunny Day event basically in one day too (began playing the day before it ended)... but I wanted to start over, not only for fruit but for the name and other stuff. The first name I came up with was Wildheart which I still like (admit I stole it from a vanilla WoW druid tier set name...) but I named the new one Wildflower which I love more as it sounds more along the lines of how I wanted the island to look and wanted something a bit prettier and floral sounding, along with it reflecting my love for wildlife and nature.

I named my main island Reverie and I love it! I named it with the idea of my island being a dreamy state of nature

My second island is Jagaimo which is potato in Japanese lol my flag is a smiling potato and it’s great hahaha

I picked a super islandy name and then noticed that a lot of people disregarded the island vacation theme. I’m seeing a lot of names that sound flowery or moon themed and I’m sitting over here in Milakonos drinking coconut juice like

I wouldn’t restart just to change it. But if for some godforsaken reason I HAVE to restart... I might not choose the same name.

I've gone back and forth on how I feel about my island name. Mine is Vasisland, a combination of Vasi (short for Vasilevski, the Tampa Bay Lighting goalie) and island. I'm fine with the Vasi part (as that's a tie-in to who I am), but I kinda wish I had chosen a different word than island to work in there. Oh well, though. I had more regret about it early on, but having posted it a whole bunch for trades and such, I've kinda just grown to accept it, lol. Not like it really matters in the end how I feel about it, it's not like I can change it now and I'm not going to reset my island.

It took me ages to come up with my Island name- Liliana.. And now that I have it, I don't even know if I like it that much. It's cute, but I feel like I could have done better. I basically just named it that, because lilies are one of my favourite flowers.

So no, I'm not particularly interested in changing my island name at this point.

My town is named Fruitpunch! Have never wanted to change it because I dont think a single person has anything like it I love it and I want my town to represent me as a person and I think its funky and fun!

Man sometimes I get in a mood where I just want to name my island something like "Jimmy" or "Chili's"

Idk if I'd still quite love that if I decided to really take my island seriously a few years down the road... but life there would sure be entertaining!

I worked very hard to come up with my name and it's perfect and in my eyes fits the essence of the game perfectly and I wouldn't change it for the world.

I do think it would be nice if they let us change it though, for those that are unhappy.

I thought out my island name like a week before launch because I wanted back up plans since I was unsure of the character limit.

Thankfully, the official acnh Twitter showed me that. I'm really happy with mine to the point I'm creating a small storyboard for it.

I named mine Barrymore and I honestly really like it (I chose it based on scream and how she was a teen star in the 90s/00s, and I named my new leaf town Winona, which I figured it'd be cool if they had a subtle connection)

every now and then I have a feeling I'll hear about some horrible thing Drew Barrymore did and regret it, but I haven't heard anything terrible so I'm good for now lol
