Do You Ever Have Second Thoughts on Your Island Name?

im just waiting for that user whose island is named "CHUD heap" to come in, they're honestly iconic

i like my island's name! konoha, the village from naruto. naruto is very near and dear to my heart and konoha has been one of my favorite fictional locations since i was a kid.

I needed my name to SOUND right to me and spent weeks trying out random words. Settled on Trellia Bay first before I remembered the 10 character limit, then tried out a word association site to find a sun/light related name, which ironically gave Corona as the only option I liked xD but I decided against Corona Bay for obvious reasons.

Evershine just popped up in my head a few days before release and so far I'm very sure I'll never regret it.

Mine is named "Pk" it's the best thing I've ever done the game says stuff like "Pk living" and "Pk miles".

My island is named Vylbrand. I've no regrets. I picked the name months in advance. It's a reference to an island in an MMORPG I play with my dad and a family friend.

But, a friend of friend who has never played AC before this game named their island Corn Dog under the impression they could change it later. So...yeah.

I'm okay with my island name (Castella). But sometimes I wish I'd picked something a bit more... thematic, I suppose? I just picked my current one on a whim and it's hard to design an island based around a cake lol.

Mine's named Cereixa, which translates to "cherry" in some language. I picked it out from a list of translations of the word. I don't hate it, but sometimes I wish I could have named it something better.

I admit that sometimes I question if naming my island after a real island was a good idea, but Mauritius seemed too perfect after I saw Orville and Wilbur for the first time!

I'm satisfied with the name I've picked, that is Southperry. I love it whenever villagers say the name Phoebe even mentioned us as Southperry-er but only that once.

No regrets here yet. I went through a list of fantasy places in my head and chose this one pretty quick, but I don't think I'll get tired of it.

Added bonus, it gave me an excuse to put a giant wardrobe near the airport & now I do not have to run inside to change my outfit for those mile missions!

I'm actually super happy with mine!

I got some cold sweats at first, staring at my screen blankly for 30minutes, trying to come up with a cool, meaningful name.
Then I realized I eventually wanted to play the game and I had to make a choice, so I tuned it down, thought about random stuff I liked and were cute/funny sounding, decided my love of cheese was stronger than anything else, named my island Gorgonzola.
I thought I would have second thoughts about naming my island after a cheese, but I actually love how it sounds haha
