Do You Ever Have Second Thoughts on Your Island Name?

Surprisingly, no! It took me over an hour to decide on a name because absolutely every idea I came up with with just a few letters too long. I felt like I settled on the cop out option, but my island name has really grown on me. It’s called Islet Key.

I initially did, since I called my island AUO. Since it was a nod to Gilgamesh, I figured later it probably would have been better if I named it Uruk or Babylonia... but honestly, now I've come to like it a lot! 😊
I really want to change my towns name to Babylonia too. I am recreating the hanging gardens of babylon, so i feel like it would fit

Uruk is also the one name that I regret not choosing. TwT that or Chaldea or Fuyuki.

definitely easier to say for me, it hurts to say kokiri

I actually already have plans on hosting tsuchinoko hunts on my island once I’m done terraforming! ^w^

Hindsight is always so much better... but oh well ;__; Chaldea and Fuyuki are good choices too! :O
Maybe not Fuyuki! Wouldn’t want horrible things happening to any of my villagers if they’re selected for the grail war.... but aha, yeah! Hindsight! If I ever have the chance for a second island it’ll probably revolve around Fate ><

Mine is called Parfait, honestly i’m kinda regretting it. I feel like it’s waaay too plain and not cutesy enough for the theme I wanna go for, and a lot of my paths are strawberry themed. I’m really tempted to reset it and call it Shortcake.

When I compare it to the name of my NL town, Mochi I kinda realise how out of place it sounds.
and I wish maybe I went with another Japanese dessert like Dorayaki. But parfait means perfect in french, so when I feel conflicted, the way I see it is i’m trying to make my town a “perfect” paradise for me i guess?

I think if it keeps bothering me for more than a week, i’m just gonna reset.

Ahh that's true, Fuyuki is pretty dangerous... maybe the clock tower or something since there's a lot of cool magic related items in the game!

I have never regretted my island name. It is the same name I use in other AC games. I treat it like it is a different universe each time and whenever I write to my villagers that I had in previous games I treat it as such. Makes it funnier how they break the 4th wall themselves in the game.

In my ACNL games my town was named Crystal and then I think Crescent after a reset, decided I wanted to do something different and named my ACNH island Meridian.
I don't regret it one bit! I love that its geography and astronomy themed, and it sounds islandy to me.

My BF named his island Zenith to match my island name theme too, but sadly he stopped playing. Its a cool name though.

my New Leaf town currently has an Italian name, so I feel. Im restarting it soon though so i can change it, since Nl restarting is hella easy

No not really! I was set on making a seaport themed town. While that hasn't necessarily happened, I still love the name.

Yes... sorta. Only because it's very unoriginal. Koriko is the name of the town in Kiki's Delivery Service. I've used it in a lot of games outside of AC since I was a kid to name places.

A lot of other people use it too. I justify it to myself as one of my little video game traditions.

No. I wanted my island to be peaceful for myself while stuck at home so I went with Serenity and I wouldn’t change it.

I picked my town name on impulse. I recently starting watching D&D lore videos and found the name "Netheril" intriguing and magical. I feel it is unique and with enough meaning behind it to be a cool conversation piece.

Knowing me, had I spent excessive amounts of time choosing a name, I would have always slightly regretted anything I eventual chose.

Plus I am hoping Nintendo does allow name changes in the future, just because that feels like such abasic feature.
