Do you Deep Sea Dive?

I find myself split on if I really want to deep sea dive or not. I like how when you catch the creatures and donate them it really seems to fill out the museum! But on the other hand it’s kind of a pain to have to grab my diving suit and put it on. I wish we could change into the suit from the closet/dresser. Although I do think selling the deep sea creatures makes a decent amount of bells for the amount of time it takes to catch them, and I like that there’s no tool to break in the catching of creatures.

I dive when I feel like it because right now I'm hunting for the vampire squid and they're so hard to come across... Combine that with how slow the player swims and how vast the island is and now the hunt has just become very tedious...it burns me out.

Are you putting your diving suit back in storage when you're done using it and taking it out when you want to use it? If so, here's a trick: keep your diving suit in your pockets. When you want to put it on, just select it, and when you're done you can take it off and it will be back in your pockets so you can wear it again any time.

I like diving I just don’t dive very often. I used to dive more often when I was trying to get the nook mile achievements for it. Now I just dive when I am looking for a certain sea creature. I did like looking for scallops for Pascal. Sometimes it can be relaxing.

I should just keep it in my pockets, that’s a good idea. And I get what you mean about hunting for certain creatures. It’s sooo frustrating sometimes! I got super lucky my last dive and found the vampire squid and giga clam in the same run. When I’m trying to catch a fast creature I usually try to get them to the corners, and then when they back off of the fence I catch them because I’ve cornered them. I definitely like that the creatures can’t go under perimeter fence like they could in new leaf, that was always SO annoying haha.

I don't really enjoy the deep sea diving mechanic in the Animal Crossing games. I'm not fond of button mashing a lot in quick succession because it just kind of makes me think about the internal components of the controller and worrying that the mashing might wear something out and ruin the button. I find it a little more tolerable in New Horizons than I did in New Leaf since a Pro Controller is cheaper and less of a hassle to replace if necessary than an entire 3DS, but it's still something that jumps to the forefront of my mind when I have to chase down some fast deep sea creature. As such, deep sea diving is usually something I just do when the game assigns capturing deep sea creatures as one of the daily tasks worth 2x points.

All that said, I do enjoy seeing Pascal and hearing him impart his wisdom whenever I find a scallop and I like the clothes, DIYs, pearls, etc. that he gives in exchange.

I like the concept of the deep sea diving, just sort of wish that it was implemented in a different way. I have no idea how else they would implement it though, and it does make sense, it's just me being a bit paranoid.

There are still a few creatures that I need to capture and donate to the museum, so I really ought to get around to that. Between my personal preference for playing with time travel and my focus shifting elsewhere, there are just some things I was never playing the game at the right time for. Pretty sure they're mostly things from the Summer months, like August, so hopefully I can finally get those done this year.

I like it but I don’t do it a lot anymore; I finished my deep sea collection not too long ago. I like to do it still though to make some extra bells. In the past, I liked storing extras of some of the sea creatures for decorating purposes (or rather to stay ib my storage).

Sometimes I try to deep-sea dive as often as I can, since my collection isn't completed yet :^(
But I find it really difficult to catch new sea critters, especially when they move too fast under water. T^T

My brother has his completed, so it was cool to see everything I could potentially donate to my museum, but I get discouraged very easily.. I'd much rather terraform

I don't mind it and I utilized it a lot when I was building my fish market or restaurant builds.

I found it more fun diving with friends, like trying to dive into their shadow, thinking they were a huge critter. Or colliding our shadows together during a dive.

My diving encyclopedia portion is already completed. So if I'm diving alone, it's more like a mission to collect a certain animal.

i always keep my wetsuit in my pocket just in case i feel like it but i do tend to forget about it since i've already completed my critterpedia

i do enjoy deep diving cause selling them is easy money but it gets a bit tedious running back to clear up more pocket space, not the end of the world though

the adrenaline rush i get when i'm able to catch one of those fast ones haha, i've developed a trick in order to catch them but it's not fail proof and sometimes it takes a couple of tries before i can catch it but the bells are worth it in the end

I've completed my Critterpedia, but I still dive occasionally for the "catch 3 deep-sea creatures" NM+ task, and I still need to complete the "Deep Dive" Nook Mile achievement. I definitely like fishing and bug catching more though, so I always have to give myself a bit of a pep talk to get myself to dive. It just feels so tedious.

Sometimes. I think there are still a few more sea critters I haven't caught yet. Some are tricky where you literally have to chase them across the map to even have a chance of catching them or cornering them lol. Not saying that it's a bad thing as it feels very satisfying when you do catch them! On a side note, it was really weird for Nintendo to not include the sea dive feature from launch unless I'm not remembering things correctly.

I placed wet suits on my beaches so that I wouldn't have to carry them around in my pockets, and I'd have more room in my storage.

I managed to donate all of the sea creatures to the museum so I don't dive very often any more. I usually only bother when I have a Nooks Miles task for it. I haven't finished the Achievement for catching 1,500 creatures, but I generally prefer to work on other Achievements instead.

As for catching the fast creatures, I read somewhere that you shouldn't press A to swim fast and should instead let your character swim with the joystick towards the creature before diving at it. That advice hasn't worked that well for me because the creature always moves when I get too close. Generally, herding the creature into a fence corner turns out better for me.

Yeah it's actually something I enjoy and think is kinda relaxing in these games. I sometimes swim around even without a particular goal in mind.

I did a bunch when I first started to earn bells quickly. I don't enjoy it as much anymore, but I still do it a little everyday to complete the museum, and to get all the mermaid items recipes.

I used to, but not anymore since these days I’m too lazy to spend more time than I need to on the game. Out of all the encyclopedias, it’s definitely the most empty.
