I mostly care about the exterior, although even then, not usually enough that I'd kick out an otherwise good villager because I didn't like their home exterior. I'd probably care more about the interior, but I'm simply too lazy to bother trying to keep their houses organized.
Exterior, nope. It's not a big deal for me. However, I consider the inside of their houses as part of the overall aesthetic of my town, so yeah. I don't like seeing bugs, fishes or any randomly placed items especially a fossil sitting there in place of their beds ugh lol. In the end, I just try to make their homes as default as possible and so far, they're still are, for more than two years now.
The exterior I don't care about, purely because Astoria is themeless and I consider it a sort of default town I put in whatever I like, including whichever villagers. It's a happy mix of creatures!
The interiors I do care about... as the villagers tend to pick the worst things to stuff in their houses--like a million fish, bugs, and literal junk. I try to give them gifts that match their other furniture pieces or their personality/house in general. However, when I first started my town, I didn't care at all what I gave them and some of the villagers interiors still show evidence of this. xD
I care about the exterior only if their house is an eyesore.
In my second town im not as picky. Its more town like. But in the forest town, do i want a bright blue and red house in the middle of the woods? Nah.
I used to care about the interior and enjoy seeing their matching furniture sets but I love how happy they become when you give them something to decorate with so now I don't care anymore X3
I personally don't really care about what the interior or exteriror of their house looks like. I do care about how the villager looks though and their peronality more than their house.
I care way too much about the interior, I fill up retail with shells each for 999 999 bells so they don?t buy them or put their own furniture in there, when they ask for stuff I only give them stuff that looks good in their house and they each get one bug and one fish if they want it. As for the exterior I don?t care too much.
I care, just not enough to lose my mind over it. I tried gifting my Apple a Kiki and Lala set, but she only added 3 of all the items I gifted her and the flooring. Then I tried gifting Merengue Pompompurin furniture but she also refused to add all but 3 of what I gifted her, so I just let it be.
I don't know if it's just me, but I found redecorating your animal villager homes to be the easiest in Wild World. In Wild World I was able to make Kiki have just about all the Lovely Furniture set that could fit in her home, plus the wallpaper and flooring. In New Leaf it feels like an impossible task, so I gave up
Yes, I care about the interior design of villagers' houses. I can absolutely adore a villager's design, but how their house looks can be the determining factor between whether I will bother to have them as a resident in my town. I wish we could have them change their wallpaper and flooring if we gave those items to them.
I also tend to refuse requests to catch bugs or fish for villagers, except for those who I intend to have move out anyway, because they tend to just make the house look worse. I used to be less concerned with it, but after absolutely wrecking Drago's house with ugly furniture I started to want to preserve a presentable interior design with other villagers.
Meanwhile, despite having themes that I based my towns around, I don't care about the exteriors of the houses. That has never been a concern of mine, they can look like whatever.
Call me mayor Stalin but after completely wrecking my villagers houses with bugs, fish, and balloon furniture when I first started playing and taking months to restore everything, I now make sure to keep their interiors looking nice. I always tell them I'll catch them whatever they want but never fulfill the request after finding that they'll sometimes do it themselves anyway if you say no. I don't do any delivery requests either.
As far as exteriors go, I don't mind what they have. It's one of the only things besides walls and flooring that can't be changed, and that's cool with me.
sometimes before i get dreamies in my town, i get in villagers who have really nice interiors so i can take some of their stuff. but for my dreamies, house appearance doesn't matter at all.
I?m not bothered how they look, I have four houses to decorate and that?s enough for me! Although I sadly don?t have any original villagers, I remember giving them all sorts of mismatched stuff to fill their houses with! It definitely would irk me now if I?d given them something that was completely different, but I?m sure I?d get used to it if I did ever accidentally do it! As for the exteriors, anything goes! My town is nowhere near themed so I don?t think there?s much that would look out of place!
I don't really care what the villagers' houses look like. I usually just sell them furniture when they ask for it or try to get them anything they ask for. Sometimes they put their furniture in the most illogical of places, but it doesn't matter to me.
