It kind of bugs me that I have a lot of cats. It's ok if it's 1 or 2 or even all cats but having a majority of cats feels wrong when compared to other villagers.
Ideally, I would prefer to have each villager be a different animal type.
BUT... this is my first AC game and I didn't really understand how it all works until after I'd invited both Flora and Julia to my island, and now I'm too fond of them to boot one just because I have two ostriches. I bought Lucky's Amiibo, and even though lazy Beau is my least favorite of my villagers, I'm not gonna invite Lucky to take his spot as long as Mac is still around because I don't want two dogs along with my two ostriches.
Well in the beginning I thought I would get 10 different Animals, but I’m sure I will end up either with 2 Sheep or 2 Koala Villagers, depending on what the rest of my Mystery Island Villagers will be. It’s really hard when you only like certain Uchis, Snooties and Peppies. And then those mix with your other Dreamies and you get double Villager Species. So I guess it’s fine then.
I really prefer to have it at one extreme or the other, or else it bugs me terribly. On my current island, I'm trying to have villagers of all different species... but I've gotten really attached to both Fang and Audie, and would find it difficult to let either go so I'm trying to decide whether or not I can backtrack a bit on that ideal haha...
I'm currently playing on a Switch Lite and when I have access to the family switch again, I'd really like to try making an all-cat island, though. If it's all one species, that's obviously themed and doesn't bug me
i've also considered having an all birds island, except for instead of all one species, it's 2 of each species of bird (2 ostrich, 2 penguin, 2 eagle, 2 chicken, 2 regular bird) and I might still end up picking that but I love the cats so much...
I was originally going for a species only but then I found Audie on an island while looking for Fang. I love her but I still really want Fang...
So I’ve decided to pair up my villagers instead! Two wolves, two cats, two squirrels, and then four others I can’t bring myself to pair up like Beau and Dom. Gonna get all 10 personalities too.
i don’t! i don’t get bored of species at all so i have no issues having more than 1 of a species on my island ;u; im planning on having 3 wolves and 2 deers since they’re my favourite aha
Ugh I wish I didn't care. I find myself gravitating towards the same species so it gets difficult trying to force myself to like / try new villagers, but I also really like diversifying and feeling ~~~unique~~~ so.. .hm
I like to have some variety, but do not mind some repeat species. Right now I have two cats (Rosie and Raymond), probably gonna have two Squirrels (I have Marshal and gonna get Caroline or Poppy.)
In New Leaf, I cared about it quite a bit. I think I tried to have ten villagers of ten different species, balanced by gender, and then have at least one of each personality.
I don't think I'll hold myself to the same restriction in New Horizons; it feels kind of artificial. If I end up with a dreamie list with all villagers that are different species, that's fine, but if I don't, that's fine too.
I don't mind having duplicate species, it's more the personalities I try to have more diversity in. I just go for my favorite villagers, like I could never choose between Tom and Bob (okay, I'd choose Tom, but still). If I ever get a third New Leaf town I'm planning on making it an all-sheep village lmao
i dont think i would like an island full of just one type of animal, but i dont mind two of the same type,,,i have whitney and audie rn tryin to get them to become friends and maybe gfs mulling over having katt along w kid cat too
