Do you care about having a “gender balance” of villagers?

So I love snooty and lazy villagers and I currently have 2 of each on my island as well as one of every other personality so in all I have 5 male personalities and 5 female personalities. I like the balance that it brings to my island but more and more I’m thinking about bringing in another lazy/snooty to have 3 of that personality and 1 of everything else. This means it’ll upset the “gender balance” I have on my island. Do you guys prefer to have 5 male and 5 female villagers or do you not care? Normally I’d like the balance but I’ve come across some villagers I like and simply haven’t taken because it would skew my balance of villagers

I personally don't care, I guess I was fortunate that mine worked out to be balanced even though I did not intend it to be. As it stands right now, I have three normals, one peppy, one uchi, two smugs, one jock, and two lazies. I want to get a snooty and a cranky, but I can't decide which ones I want to let go. For the time being, I guess I'll try to maintain it, but if it does end up becoming imbalanced, I wouldn't mind at all.

I don’t care about gender balance at all, since I usually find myself having more female villagers than male villagers no matter what Animal Crossing game I play. However, at the moment I have 5 males and 5 females.

I actually don't care. I do want to have all the personality types though (still missing a Jock).
With the way things are in the game though, I prefer not to have more than 2 repeats of the same personality - I currently have 3 lazies and I initially wanted to keep all 3 because I love them, but the dialogue got pretty repetitive quickly.

I pretty much always end up with more female than male villagers. Tbh I only have male villagers because you need the personalities for reactions/DIYs and dialogue would get too repetitive otherwise.

I have 6 female villagers and 4 male villagers on my island. I'll probably end up with 6 male and 4 female depending on which personality type I want duplicates of.
I already have a second cranky villager, I'm leaning towards possibly getting another lazy.

I'd like the gender balance to be similar if not equal. But since I want at least one of each personality, that guarantees a 5-5 or 6-4 split

i don’t - my dream lineup will leave me with 3 males and 7 females and i don’t mind that one bit. i’m more interested in the connections i have with my villagers rather than their gender aha

I do a bit but somehow always end up with more female villagers. They’re overall cuter.

I wouldn’t mind balanced island but I prefer it slightly off and if I’m going to have it unbalanced, it has to have more males than females. I don’t know why but I’m going to try and ignore the fact that it may have to do with some patriarchal bias 😅

6:4 is exactly my preferred ratio but it’s not a strong preference.

I don't. But I'm going this route this time around for no particular reason.

I try to have all personalities on my island so in a way I guess I do try to keep the genders balanced! I do have more male villagers though as I have one extra lazy villager and one extra smug villager. :)

No, I just care about personality balance. Though I just checked and somehow ended up with a 5:5 anyway.

I don't care too much about gender balance. I care more about personality balance and species balance. While a mix of 5/5 would be nice, as long as it isn't overly lopsided towards one gender, then it's fine. Looking at my current gender split, it's 6 males to 4 females, which isn't too bad.

I don't care much about gender, but I have to care about personality. In NL I had 3 normals at one point and it was too much. Plus, with DIYS being locked to personalities, I want to make sure I have a balence.

Yes, not because I want to pair them, but because it feels less sexist to have both. Otherwise, I’d have an island full of females

I don't get why anyone would care? if you want every/most personalities you'll end up with a gender balance anyway lol

I try to, but most importantly I try to have all personalities balanced!

I would like mine more balanced but I love too many of the male villagers to kick them out... Currently my island is at 8:2 male to female, so not getting anywhere close to balanced
