So she's basically saying "Hey it's ok if you do wrong we won't do our job as parents"

I think that even spankings are too much. Now verbal abuse is cool. If I had an annoying kid I would say insults. "AY TARTFACE QUIT EATIN' THE PENCIL LEAD!" or something. Hopefully it would lead to my kid using fun and exciting compound insults.
