Alright, I know that I'm probably not going to get any help here, but I can't figure this one out and need help. I'm trying to open GIMP, but it just crashed, and now I'm getting this error message that reads:

The application X11.bin quit unexpectedly.
-blahblahblahstandardmacerrortext-

BTW, I'm on a Mac.

No matter whether I Ignore it, Report it, or Relaunch it, the error just loops. It just keeps popping up, even though I'm not running X11. IT WILL NOT GO AWAY.

Any help?

I'm don't really know anything about computers... But maybe the program is incompatible with something? o_O Maybe if you updated it. Sorry, that probably wasn't much help.

Oh yeah, that thing was so annoying. I couldn't even go on your internet 'casue of it. >:[

It seemed to be associated with GIMP, so I'd try uninstalling, then reinstalling the latest version of GIMP.

Strange, I've never had that problem. I use GIMP all the time, and X11 works just fine for me. Which version of OS X do you have, and which version of GIMP and X11 are you trying to use?

Hmm... All of those are out of date, lol. It's possible that the versions of the applications aren't compatible with each other or something. I dunno why, though. Try updating GIMP to version 2.6.7 and X11 to version 2.3.5. And you should definitely consider upgrading to Snow Leopard. My current version of OS X is 10.6.3. Snow Leopard is awesome. =3

Do you have a link to where I can update X11 at? I can't find it. :S

Do you have a ]Try a Software Update. It's an Apple application that comes with the OS, so it should be updated automatically... Unless 2.0 is the latest version that works with OS X 10.5, that is...

Yeah, it's not in Software update. And when I try to update GIMP, I get the error message:

The operation cannot be completed because the item libz.1.2.3.dylib is in use.

Huh... Try uninstalling GIMP and redownloading the newest version.

Also, definitely consider getting Snow Leopard sometime. It's only $30.

Alright, GIMP's been updated, but nothing is changing. The error message is still there.

I would contact the GIMP team and tell them your problem then...

It'll be a pain, but try reinstalling GIMP completely. Delete it and reinstall from their website.

That's what I just did.

And Rorato, it's not a problem with GIMP, it's a problem with X11.
