"This president NEEDS to go..."
"I don`t care what anybody says, Barack Hussein Obama is not a CHRISTIAN."
"We have to stop Osama Obama before we lose what our founding fathers fought so hard for."
""This is just the Muslims way of adding insult to injury."" Do people understand it was terrorists who blew up the World Trade Center?
""If you know a good muslim... slip them a Bible." i like tis one teh most
"MUSLIMS ARE OUR ENEMIES" another winner
"They are trying to make a statement" yes it looks to me like they are trying to say they disapprove with the destruction of the World Trade Center and want to coexist in peace.

MORE-
"we gotta stop kissing everyones ass and get our country back to AMERICA"
"i have no respect for them.[Muslims]"
"We are being disrespected as Americans in the worst way" I'm sure the building of the Mosque is worse than the actual event, 9/11
"allow this man to build his "victory" mosque " trolololol
"BECAUSE IT SHOWS THEIR VICTORY OVER US!!! THAT'S WHY!!!' since when did we go to war against the Muslim faith.
Also a person on reddit who lives in down town Newyork said he has seen no offense to the Mosque from others, the protest comes form other areas.

Oh, and a few people told me to learn about my country...

wtf!?! its not like I'll be spending a third year learning about it, the truth is, anyone could learn more than them by watching a marathon on the History Channel

I love this...what's the problem if he isn't? No matter what these crazies want to think, we are most certainly not a Christian nation. We are a nation of diversity, and that includes all religions, thought-groups, and what have you. You'd think we'd be proud of this diversity, but nope, you're either Christian or you're a nutjob who wants to destroy America.

She would use her satanic terrorist powers to obliterate them.

You'd think they would have moved the mosque to a different location after receiving such a negative response from the people. Regardless, something bad is going to happen to that mosque once construction is finished.

People have to learn that we now have a real president, Barack Obama not some guy who just *censored.3.0*ed with the country. Barack Obama is a leader and even if he was a Muslim then people should still respect him. At least he's smart enough and has enough balls to take care of this country in it's worst situation.

Oh and the same person who started this cause created another one to bring Christianity into schools. (:

hehe ur funny

What's he doing? Really, nothing. The only change I've seen since he's been in office is a fast downward spiral. Granted, Bush wasn't a good president, but anything is better than the current office.

And faith aside, I just think that is somewhat offensive. hell, even if it were "Christians" that destroyed the WTC and they decided to build a church there, that would piss me off as well.

Ready for wall of text?

K, first of all, people need to know the facts about the Mosque before making assumptions.
It's not on ground zero, it's 2 blocks away, I wouldn't want any building other than a memorial built there. Second, this is in no way an extremist mosque whatsoever. The Imam there writes articles denouncing fundamentalist Islam, and all religions in their fundamentalist form. It's not going to be only a mosque, it's a community center that ANY New Yorker can visit, it simply has a prayer room for Muslims.

If you say there can't be mosque on ground zero, can you not also stop the building of Churches in Jerusalem and every city the KKK operated in? They committed atrocities in the so called name of Christianity.

And finally, it denies people of their most basic rights. Even if you're not Muslim, and you hate every Muslim, Moderates as well as the very small group of extremists, this will hurt you. It lets the government and the general thoughts of the public decide which parts of the Bill of Rights applies to you.

If it's two blocks away, that's fine. But from what I heard, and from what the media (not just Fox) said about it, it sounded like they were putting it ON Ground Zero.

CNN said:
The Islamic center's leaders say they plan to build the $100 million, 13-story facility called Cordoba House three blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks. The developer, Sharif El-Gamal, describes the project as an "Islamic community center" that would include a 500-seat performing arts center, a lecture hall, a swimming pool, a gym, a culinary school, a restaurant and a prayer space for Muslims.
