... is probably the most stressful thing a villager can ask me lol. either new catchphrase or greeting or anything that involves thinking up of something for them to say. it makes me so sad that i cant think of anything clever other than hello as a greeting, but dont even get me started on catchphrases, i suggested Gladys say peeko bc idk what birds say aside from chirp aha;;

what do you guys do? any suggestions?

It is stressful, I Either use 'Desu' or 'Nya' as a new Phrase.
The others, I Just leave it be.

at this point, i just turn them down if i have nothing in mind. but i'll usually go for some random words/phrases from things i'm interested in (e.g., music groups, shows, etc), or i'll tell them to say random foods

I usually remove the last 1 or 2 letters and replace them with something else. So it's essentially the same, but different XD

i try to come up with new ones, but there are some phrases i like so much that i dont wanna change them, hehe.

i tried making them say animal sounds (frogs say ribbit etc) but then they started sharing phrases.... i really didn't like having rabbits saying "ribbit" so i stopped making them say that ):

Yeah I really suck at thinking up of new phrases too. Normally I just leave them with the one they already have because I can't think of anything better. For example, Agent S has the catchphrase of sidekick which is already perfect.

I always get them to say a variation of whatever sound the animal they are would make anyway. Octopi I tell to say: "Glub glub" or "Bubble bubble", and my penguins get: "Pingu" a lot. Then you get the added amusement of watching the catchphrases spread to inappropriate animals, if you're into that sort of thing which I am but I see not everyone is. At one point my town had a cat, mouse, duck and octopus who went: "Purrrr".

I usually try to think of species related catchphrases and greetings...no matter how silly they might be.Sometimes I'll give them a catchphrase/greeting that refers to their appearance or personality type.I've always thought Chops looks a lot like Studio Ghibli's Porco Rosso character so I made that his catchphrase.Puck wears a hockey helmet so I gave him "zamboni".

For greetings I just give all my villagers "Ayeee lmao" I try to keep all of their original catchphrases.

my villagers say cute things like, apple, honey, cutie, peach ect. i also have in my bed for a few of them because it's too great..

Back when I had Lopez I gave him "like a sir" and it was great, it doesn't suit any of my current villagers but it was one or my favorites for him.

I also have Roscoe say "or else" and it has mixed results depending on exactly what he's saying but when it works right it makes it worthwhile.

Personally I avoid anything too specific to a villager because getting a catchphrase like "glitter" out of my town was harder than getting rid of actual glitter (stop getting 'glitter' everywhere Julian!).

Julian always gets variations of glitter--sparkle, dazzler, glimmer, et cetera.

Phoebe gets fire-related things.

Freya gets a particular Norwegian phrase that at the moment I can't remember.

Tia gets tea puns.

Drago and Muffy will get properly themed phrases when they ask.

I made Lionel's catchphrase booty grab, it always make me laugh!

Thanks for the new idea! Haha I get so tired of trying to think up new catchphrases, and they ask for new ones all the time! I wish they would just keep one for a while instead of constantly trying to change them!

I usually make them say some sort of current slang word or whatever. Just to change things up. My Chrissy went from saying Pinky Pie to calling everyone slick

My catchphrases can actually be a bit immature lol... But I like them x)
I usually try to make it something with the same first letter as thee type of animal they are.
Examples:
Goat gas
Pig poots
Cat coochie
Frog farts
Cow cream
Doggy dung
Sheep slug

This is one of my most annoying pet peeves in the entire game. I have no creative catch phrases or greetings other than the generic noise that animal would make. I always just turn them down or even ignore them completely so I don't have to listen to them ask this question so often. I kind of wish they would just stick with what they are given from the start of the game because that is way more creative than I could ever come up with.
