Nintendo Coins, the virtual currency Club Nintendo members receive for doing things like registering their game and hardware purchases and answering surveys, will soon be able to buy Virtual Console games, according to an announcement that was briefly live on the Club Nintendo site.

Will try to use it, although I don't live in the UK, and I only have one code.

This is very good news. Most of their current prizes aren't anything special, including the one WiiWare game they already offer (the lame Grill-Off with Ultra Hand!). So it'll be nice to spend my coins on something I actually want for a change. IGN also reported that Fluidity (a highly-rated WiiWare game) will also be among the games available.

Unfortunately, the Club Nintendo site is now saying these games are only available for a limited time (until January 10). Of course they could have other games at that time, but it's disappointing to see these are (very) temporary options for rewards.

Edit: Based on the wording on the site, it could just mean that they're only available at the current prices until January 10. So maybe they will still be available, just at a higher cost after January 10th.

I'd be more excited about this if I didn't already own most of the games. :/ Is Fluidity and Xevious any good?

1000 points/$10 150 coins

I just got that! I only had 150 coins... but not a bad deal for registering a couple old games and taking a few surveys about MKDS and ACWW!!
but they don't even have this in Australia :|

I wish I didn't buy those stupid Mario posters a year ago when I thought the coins were worthless, they just sit in a cardboard tube in the corner of my room too. :l
