If not a Steamdeck, one of those portable gaming systems like a ROG Ally or Legion.

So, the question is: Which one of these systems would you choose as your entertainment on a month-long trip?

Which games would you play on it? Can they interest you for a month?

Personally, I’d be very torn because I would really love to check up on my ACNH island every day, but I don’t enjoy enough Nintendo games to bring my Switch as my only gaming console. If I brought my ROG Ally X with me, I’d have a lot more choices of games but I’d still be sad I can’t check my AC town.

I'm bringing my Switch since I don't have a Steam Deck. Pulled one over on y'all.

I would bring ALL my games. I like them all too much to just pick one or two.

And which games are they?
I'll use my portable Wi-Fi for the online ones:

- Pokemon Shield
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX
- Bluey: The Videogame
- Minecraft
- MySims: Cozy Bundle
- Super Mario Maker 2
- Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu!
- Among Us
- Stardew Valley

I would miss my Nintendo games but in reality I have more of my games on my Steam Deck than Switch. So I'd vote Steam Deck.

I'd bring my switch. And honestly, I'd probably only play ACNH since I'm in an ACNH phase. I have a lot of switch games I need to play in case I got bored too, so should be fine.

I do get curious about what new consoles are released, but I'm not interested in getting another handheld console for myself, so I'd choose my Switch 2! Thankfully most of the games can just be accessed digitally anyway. I have very little time and a lot of games I'd either like to start or keep playing!

To start: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Little Nightmares III, Yoshi's Crafted World, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure.
To continue working through: Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven, Arctictopia, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, Pokémon Z-A, Kirby Air Riders, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Star-Crossed World, Pikmin 1, and Arise (as you can see, I have a lot of games in progress on my Switch that I still need to get through...).

Switch. I like taking Nintendo handhelds with me whenever I travel. I’m not really interested in the Steamdeck.

Steam Deck. Though it can be a lot heavier and make my palms numb after a while, I'd rather support game creators from big to small at a much better price point than Nintendo. Also it does everything a midpoint gaming laptop can do with the right accessories.

I love my Switch 2, but I have to go with my Steam Deck OLED. At this point my Switch 2 is just for Nintendo games and I use my Steam Deck for most of my handheld gaming needs. It’s more ergonomic, more customizable, and the games are cheaper. I like being able to have most of my Steam library on the go and unlike the Switch I can adjust the graphics of whatever I’m playing to improve the battery life. The only drawbacks would be not having a 1080p screen and not being able to play the latest Nintendo games.

I prefer to play things on my Switch 2, just due to it being lighter and a bit nicer to hold, but I mostly use my Steam Deck as it syncs saves to my PC and I can get access to all sorts of weird stuff like emulation, modding and decomplied PC ports.

I only have the switch, so there's no really a decision to make... Games: acnh, persona 5, breath of the wild, age of calamity

From the experience I'm not really into gaming on trips. When I was on a 3 week trip I had my Switch with me and I only used it twice for a very short time.

But if I had to choose I would go with the Steam Deck as most of my games are on Steam. Not that I own one, but someone very close to me has one so it wouldn't be an issue to borrow it if I wanted.
