can you ask 2 villagers to move in at once?

i know the title's gonna sound a bit confusing, so let me explain to the best of my ability.

yesterday i was going to go and pick up frita from somebody else's town.
i checked my campsite before going over to get frita, and i found that bam was in my campsite. i decided to let him move in because i love bam.

i have 8 villagers right now, so i DO have enough room for both of them, otherwise one of them wouldn't let me invite them to move in.

i was just wondering if it's possible for 2 villagers to move in at the same time, or if they cancel each other out, therefore having Nobody move in (unless its a random plot).

i looked it up before inviting frita and i found that the villagers would move in, just be a day apart or so, whichever being invited first moving in first. however, ive been plot resetting and haven't found bam's plot once, so im a biiit nervous.

im sorry for this being so long winded! i just wanted to make sure i explain it Exactly so nobody wastes their time asking if i did [x] [y] or [z] thing that doesn't apply to the situation

You can have one persons plot for their house in town, and you can have someone in boxes at the same time however you can't have two plots at the same time

I'm pretty sure you can do this. I moved in an animal from a campsite and amiibo, one plots the house, the next day that house is built. When that house is built, the other one will plot their house. Plus, with campsite animals it'll take them anywhere from 1-4 days to move in, adoptions usually seem to be 1-2 days.

This was before amiibo update, but I have had this experiment when I had 2 slots. Let's say, day 1 is March 1st. Though, I don't know if they changed this part after the update.

March 1st :

Invite the camper. Later of the day try to convince a villager boxed up in someone's town to move in.
→ The dialog to convince didn't show.​

March 2nd :

The same villager who was in campsite a day before is camping. Succeed to convince a villager who's boxed up in other's town.​

March 3rd :

A villager who was in campsite makes a plot.​

March 4th :

A villager who you adopted from other's town makes a plot.​

You can only invite one per day, I once visited a hackers town and he had Fauna ready for me. I invited her to my town and then noticed Zell was also in boxes, after asking permission I also invited Zell. Only Zell moved in. I recommend traveling one or two days before inviting the second villager, you can always travel back to the original date later.

I had two plots in my town once, so I'm sure you can have two villagers moving in at once. However not sure if you can ask two villagers, I think you can scan in amiibo on the same day you invited someone, but two invites are probably not possible.
