Camper agreed to move in, then refused?

I've got Audie in my campsite and she's a dream villager. Random camper. My island is full, though.

I talked to her a bunch, won a bunch of card games. She agreed to move in finally, talked to Tom Nook, then came back and told me the town is full.
I've talked to her over and over to get her to switch with a villager and she just says "thanks for the invite. I guess it's not going to work out this time."

I've done this for 2 hours and she STILL hasn't tried to switch with another villager. Will she, for sure, eventually agree to move in and switch with a random villager? Or is this futile?

That's strange, usually after a campsite villager talks to Tom Nook they let you know who wants to move out in their place. Did Audie ever mention anyone wanting to move out?

Are your gates open? You might need to close your gates before she will agree to move in/switch out with someone. My friend had that problem with an Amiibo camper. Good luck!

She hasn't mentioned it yet, that's what I'm trying to trigger her into doing. I thought it happened right after she agreed to move in and went to resident services but it hasn't

(NOT MY PICTURE) Did you get anything like this? Audie should have mentioned something similar.

Usually the campsite dialogue finishes with the campsite villager asking your villagers if they want to move and one of them volunteers to go. You then can choose if you want that villager to stay or not. It doesn't look like you've finished the whole dialogue which is so strange. I'm really sorry I don't have any solutions for you but I really hope someone else does and Audie comes home! 😭

If you save the game and reload, you might get the whole dialogue. It sounds like she's glitched, and quitting and opening the game fixes glitches with villagers who are crafting...

This is a common problem and I've seen 2 fixes to it so far.

1. You have less than 10 villagers and no plots available. The game knows that you could go put up another plot if you wanted to. Once you do, the campsite visitor will agree to move into the empty plot.

2. There is a villager in your town somewhere who wants to move out. Find the villager with the thought bubble and tell them not to move. Then go talk to the campsite visitor again and the dialogue should proceed normally.

If it's not either of those things, I'm stumped. And since I sent this reply so late, idk if it got to you in time to be helpful. I really really hope you were able to get Audie, it would be such cruel torture to get a dreamie in the campsite and then not be able to have them

I recognise this problem, I had it when I wasn't yet at my max amount of 10 villagers. Try talking to Nook and see if he has a plot available for you, when you've placed one, she should be able to move in!
