This icon was found in the game data for Desert Island Escape 3DS. Champ, as we know, bares a striking resemblence to Porter, so you can imagine my dismay when he was ultimately cut from New Leaf. With this new discovery of Champ's face icon, it makes me wonder if and when we will get him. They wouldn't add an icon for a village we couldn't obtain right? He might be future DLC or something, who knows. I mean, why waste time making a face icon for him if he isn't in the game? I wonder if someone has the skills to datamine and find textures. That's what someone did in HHD and found unused villagers. Also, before anyone says this is Porter, we know what his icon looks like because it includes his hat based on the icons that are pulled from amiibo Festival.

What do you guys think?

Maybe there will be a series 6 with 50 old returning villagers? THe icons were just datamined, and so far only Champ's has come up.

I do think it's doubtful, considering I'm sure hackers would have discovered assets for villagers not included in Sanrio/Amiibo/RV cards by now. Maybe Champ was planned but cut, or he'll be Spotpass exclusive.

Champ is a interesting case in the series.
I believe that everyone noticed that there are two monkeys.

One is the conductor and the other is Porter.
The conductor could had been Champ the whole time.

But, I don't discard the possibility of him not being related.

I've been wanting him for a long time. Bring him and Huggy back. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a Welcome Amiibo Series 6 cards around another holiday.

They definitely have enough villagers to work with to release a Series 2 of the RV cards... But I don't think they will, sadly... :c

I just read this from a wiki:

"It is possible that Champ is Porter, due to their nearly identical appearances and Champ's interest in trains. Champ also does not appear in any of the same games Porter does (although he was planned to in Animal Crossing: New Leaf), and vice versa. This is contradicted in the Wii U app Animal Crossing Plaza, which portrays Porter and Champ with different birthdays.

It could also be possible that Champ is Porter's brother, due to the fact that they look so similar. Porter's e-reader card states Porter and his brother are rumored to switch places sometimes, though it does not specify who this brother is. "

Tsk tsk
