Balloon presents no longer appearing

I got the last Nook Miles achievement for popping balloons yesterday and since then I still have to see any new ones pop up. Anyone else noticed this? I've seen a topic about it on Nintendo's support page as well so this is probably not just my imagination or some kinda bad luck.

Would this be intentional or is it a glitch?

Yeah I've read online about the same bug, I really hope it's a glitch because finally balloons drops nice presents - not those ugly balloon series items.

I got the problem that after some presents you only get 1000 bells xD I was hunting for cool stuff but then they decided to give only 1000 bells in each present
