here’s some quotes to explain it
first: a comment award ssystem. we could award bells to comments that are funny or cool. like reddit gold
Like a small bronze coin for 1-10 bells, 11-25 a bronze medal, 26-45 a silver medal, 46-70 a golden medal, 71-99 a platinum coin, 100+ a gold and plstinum metal
so basically you donate bells to a comment and it gets an award
you get it, right?

Good idea, but I'm not sure how practical it would be on a forum of this style. It could possibly be abused or incourage people to go off topic just to say something funny or cool that would be irrelevant to the thread/conversation.
Good point, but you wouldnt expect an award while posting

Besides the issues that were raised already, I think the fact that everyone's replies are on the same level and are being read is a wonderful feature on this forum. Even when someone isn't incredibly funny or super helpful, but still wants to participate in the discussion, they're still allowed to do that with a guarantee that their reply will be read by at least one person.
In my opinion the reactions are enough!

I think adding something like that would only give us redundant clutter on the pages, we already have a reaction system to show our appreciation. It might work on other sites, but I doubt it would add anything of value here. :)

If only I were funny or cool... *sigh* lol

Excuse me but you are definitely cool

I like being able to just like or love someone's post to show I've appreciated it! I think awards would create some drama/competition I feel is not needed or helpful. Besides, we already are kind of rewarded for posting with TBT if you think about it!

Maybe a separate thread where that was an isolated area for people to compete for those points would be the only way I'd see it potentially work out! Like "tell us your funniest joke of the day" area, etc. And have that award system only apply to that thread!

Likes already serve this purpose. I feel like adding this would feel too much like reddit and break the chillness of just replying to threads bc people would feel like they would have to make good comments to be worthwhile or to farm bells out of it.
