I had never heard of bronies until about 5 months ago. My adult son told me about them and I couldn't stop laughing. I thought he was kidding. A week later, one of my ac friends told me he was a brony. We had been friends for a year and a half. Anyway, I was glad that I knew what a brony was, and realized that my son was telling the truth. I still think it's funny, but it doesn't bother me. Heck, I'm an adult and I read kids books, love Disney, hate coffee because it tastes yucky, and still love to stuff huge wads of bubblegum in my mouth until I can't even talk. Who am I to judge?
Seriously though, I wish people would bugger off with the term "brony", so what if you're a male and think Pinkie Pie is adorable!! Good for you for liking something that some men don't, it doesn't make you any less macho .

I rather enjoy the show, but I can't be called a Brony. I'm a teenage girl. c:
Labels are really weird, though. Why do people have to label people? It's just crazy.
Nope. The whole My Little Pony fanbase was actually started as a joke on 4chan. They were trying to get it to catch on because they thought it would be hilarious to see a bunch of grown men watching My Little Pony. It worked!

I understand there are some negative connotations related to the term brony, and I also understand that, as a female, I don't necessarily count as such. But, I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I think it's a fantastic show, and I think the official art and figurines are super cute. While I'm not obsessively into it, as the stereotype suggests, I recommend it and talk about it to other adults I know that are into cartoons, because I think at times it's very clever, and even at its worst, it's still cute and a fun show.
