I'm searching for my dreamies for like 3 days straight (30+ mystery islands checked) and EVERY villager there was peppy or uchi. Only 1 was lazy. Is it true that every villager can spawn on a mysterious island? Cuz it looks like there are only peppy and uchi ones for me...

idk if it works the same as the campsite, but do you have a peppy and/or uchi in your town right now?

The islands, unfortunately, are not guaranteed to give the personality you're missing. When you leave for an island, I believe the game generates the species first and then it generates the personality. So you're fighting against a system that can give you a shot at all villagers. I believe there is a theory going around that certain personalities appear at certain times but I'm not sure how accurate any of that is or if it's true.
If you don't have your dreamies' personality in town and aren't afraid of time travel, the campsite method might be more helpful to you.

Speaking of theory with personalities at a certain time. I did my recent island hopping between 6-7am and more than a half of encountered villagers were lazy and jock
So maybe you did your trips at a time when peppy and sisterly villagers are more likely to appear? xd

Not sure if you TT? imo both island hopping and campsite reset methods could be very time consuming. Since they are both tedious, I'd personally prefer the campsite resetting method lol.

With the campsite it spawns villagers of personalities you're lacking, say you don't have a lazy villager, that means 60% of the time a villager at the campsite is gonna be a lazy type. HOWEVER this does not apply to the mystery islands. Every villager is completely random

Yeah, it is truly random. Even so, I mostly get chickens on islands. Makes you question life, existence and the true nature of randomness in the big scheme of the universe.
Oh, and could it be that I'm on early days of my island? (before building my first 3 houses - I want to find 3 dreamies to move in later). Maybe because of that I have only peppy/uchi? Just like the 2 starters can be only an uchi and a jock villagers.
Hahaha the same for me. I mostly get mice and frogs. Animal species I don't like at all except Jambette (odd I know xD) and Ribbot. Of course my favourite animals wolfs, ostrichs, and eagles never appeared. Instead it seems I'm cursed by Rodeo the lazy bull who showed up three times now xD

Yeah it's a curse! I never saw a cat in an island and barely any squirrels! But frickin Benedict? I saw him at least two times. What. are. the. odds.
