anyone ever take a long absence from this site before?

I did, shortly after joining. I was around for a brief while, adopted a couple of my New Leaf dreamies, and pretty much disappeared for the next few months after that. I came back sometime around February, I think, when the pandemic isolation was really getting to me and I thought it would be good to hang out and chat in a forum space again, and I've been fairly active since. I haven't had great experiences with fandom spaces in the past, but the community here is by far the loveliest I've seen, so I'm planning to stick around! c:

Tbh I'm here mostly for the events, so I kinda disappear whenever events aren't going on. I do check sometimes though

I think there was a gap at some points but I can't remember too well as I wasn't that active as a user last year besides right about ACNH's launch and the TBT summer and winter events. As a kid I'd checked out TBT but it wasn't too active and didn't join.

Over at acc, where I've spent a lot more time, I've taken more significant breaks. Sometimes when I was younger I had to force myself so that I'd be able to do other things with my life lol

all the time, for several years at a time. for me I usually stop vsiting after I hit a lull in my AC game, and then come back when I jump back on my game. There was a large chunk of time between ACNL and ACNH that I spent not on the forum!

I have been a member for a while now, but have taken long hiatuses (especially with college). I only came back with the release of NH and then became inactive when things started to slow down, but with this new update I bet a lot of members will come back from their break to check things out!

I was super active during the start of ACNL because I really enjoyed trading and playing with other players, although I hadn’t explored other aspects of the forum like the events. After my interest in ACNL died down I took a fairly long hiatus from the forum. When I came back I decided to finally participate in some forum events and I enjoyed it so much especially because it helped me get back into ACNL. I’ve stuck around ever since and now I’m lucky enough to help run forum events!

I took a break last year around this time. Oct-December are very busy months for me. I ended up missing also all the in game events. I think when life gets stressful, it’s good to sometimes just step away from it all for a while. I always come back though.

I stopped playing ACNH around the summer the year it was released and that also made me lose interest in this website since I used it mainly to discuss the game and trade. However with the new update, it has revived my interest in the game so I'm back for now.

I joined when AC:NL was at its height and then took a long break when it kind of died. Then came back when AC:NH came out and took another long break mostly for mental health reasons. It's amazing how long this forum has been around tbh, you can take really long breaks and still come back to a community!

Completely understand about the long breaks. Like most, I first joined TBT at the height of ACNL. Made some lifelong friends by way of TBT back in 2013!

I would come back throughout 2013-2017 to giveaway villagers. Said hello again in 2020 with much enthusiasm and also to make new connections and see if older connections were still around. Of course, naturally, back for the update. I always think about TBT when I play AC. So many good memories. Now that life allows me more flexibility, I want to do more within this forum

Yea, I joined in 2013 I think? Was pretty active for a year or 2, then took a break until WA came out, and then took a break again from I think from like 2016-2020 and became more active again because acnh came out.

also took a break for like 8 months this year too because I got bored of acnh haha

i was about to make a thread asking if i missed anything big. i've been gone since august, soo errr, 4 months ? i missed acnhs big 2.0 update i know for sure, but i disappeared off the site in the middle of the- the name is escaping my mind, something like bell camp ? anyway, going to try to get back into the forum & then disappear for months again ;p

goodness, seems i'm not the only one who takes big breaks. i feel less alone now >.<

I had taken a break from the site for a while. The last time I had been on was on Christmas Day 2020 to get the presents opened and then disappeared after that. I felt bad after a while, and then my sibling urged me to get back on, so I did! Def worth coming back to this, it’s fun.
