Anyone else unreasonably excited about Jingle?

If it's anything like NL then hell nope. That was one of the worst events and I never cared. If they improved it though I might give it a go.

I adore Christmas in animal crossing!! I'm especially excited for the Christmas events / Toy Day because it's just such a good time of year as the vibe of celebrating Christmas AND playing animal crossing is my absolute favourite!! Plus yes I am excited for Jingle, lol 🥺

As someone who absolutely loves the holidays, Jingle and Toy Day are something that I'm definitely looking forward to. Hopefully there will be a set that I can use to decorate my whole island in :)

Since New Leaf was my first AC game, and I was a heavy time traveler, I haven’t played much through winter. Though, I am excited for what’s Toy Day gonna be like. (Will we have white hair as an update? Now that’s something I’m excited for)

honestly i have never been that into jingle so i'm not that hyped. i played his event in new leaf once i think and i never liked the furniture we got from him, i hope new horizons adds less ugly furniture associated with the event!

I will admit that I've been daydreaming about winter decorations and a toy day fence, but I'm not excited for Jingle yet. We can't forget about Franklin! I haven't even said a proper hello to the Czar of Halloween yet either!

I feel like finding Jingle in the original AC was magical. Like I turn it on Christmas morning and there's different music and I don't know what's in store. I don't think he was in WW of I'm correct? And then by CF and NL the internet was a big thing so I knew exactly what was in store. It... Wasn't as magical.

I don't know what You Day entails for this game and I'm hoping to keep it that way. And if the new arrangement of the Toy Day music is as amazing as the Egg Day and Halloween tracks are, it might be one of my favorite moments in this game, even if just for a fleeting hour.

I had to look him up but omg he's so cute!! I can't wait to see what my island looks like in the winter!!

I missed Halloween, Harvest Festival and Toy Day so yes, I definitely am looking forward to Jingle even though I am trying not to get my hopes up about the content and event :).

I meant that I missed them when I played NL.

If it's anything like how Bunny Day was handled, that's a hard no for me.

There's no reason to think it will be. Nothing since bunny day has been handled like that... And it's never been anything resembling that in past games.

I will be VERY happy if literally ANYTHING deer related is added into toy day. Otherwise I’m pretty neutral towards it (I’ll probably be pretty busy during Christmas Eve/Day so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do the day proper)

Yes, but we haven't had any real major holidays since Bunny Day. I haven't TT for Hallowen, so I am keeping that a surprise. And I was also excited for fishing and bug tournaments until it turned out to be something akin to a glorified ClubTortimer mini-game tour.

For me, the problem with bunny day was that it took over the game for weeks in advance. We already know halloween doesn't do that, even without TT.

But we'll see! I'm not trying to convince you to be an optimist if you're a pessimist! As of right now, neither of us knows what it looks like :) I'm excited though!

lol I'm not a pessimist. But Bunny Day was torture. Wedding month wasn't real fun either, but it didn't have all the resources prioritized. All of the events we've had so far, I'd say I enjoyed May Day and the fire works festival. It was fun navigating the maze and figuring out the best/right way to get to the end. That was a unique take at an event and brought me back to the fun mini-games on the island.

It would had been cool if we could retake it until the event ended. Even if we didn't get the prize.

I really love Jingle! I am definitely looking forward to seeing him. He was always one of my favorite NPCs. <3

He was created for the US* localization of Animal Crossing and then brought back to Japan in their Animal Crossing+ game on Gamecube. It is funny to me that several of the most iconic characteristics were created by a localization team, instead of the original developers.

*Edit- North America not US

I was just watching a video on this! While I can unfortunately imagine an AC game without Jingle (WW), I can't imagine the Gamecube version without him!

Who else besides Jingle was created by an outside source?

I believe the same video said Jack and Franklin were also created in localization!

Thanks! I was just trying to look this up and struggling. I read an article about this somewhere forever ago and now cannot locate anything about it.

I watch so many AC videos, I can't recall which one discussed this, but I believe it was something like "The complete history of Animal Crossing"
