anyone else have garbage rng? [rant]

For about 3 days straight I've had just dupe items in Nook's. I thought to myself, "wow, I guess I'm just that far in the game now, I have almost every item already."
That was about 2 weeks into the game.
I've now been playing every day since launch and I have yet to see the "imperial dining lantern" or even just the simple "mug." It's always circulated through the same hundred or so items which made me wonder if certain islands were limited to certain furniture, but they aren't!
I have it the worst with DIYs. If I can check in and get all 3 (plus the message bottle) I do. Lo and behold, I get 4 dupes per day. Everyday. Since about a month in. I dislike spoiling myself with these sorts of things, but I had to know if I just had all of them already.
I don't even have half!!!! Even to this day!!!
I finally gave up and bought the wild log bench and ironwood dresser off Nookazon. I still don't have the mini DIY workbench which you need to make the other two, yet I have an entire section on my island dedicated to duplicate DIYs my friends can take. I've gotten so many, that now I keep getting dupes of the dupes I gave to my friends, so I can't even get rid of them! (I dislike selling them when I can give them to real people)
Even in Able Sisters, I haven't seen the reindeer or snowy sweaters, or the old-school jacket, all of which I would really love to give my villagers. I've been playing for 171 days straight and have not come across them a single time.
Do the rng gods just hate me? Or do they want us all to suffer in our own ways?

It's rare when I get a DIY or see a furniture in the shop that I need. It's not like I have everything either. That's part of the reason I need to get an online account. I'm sick of not having certain things, and the game just won't give them to me.

It's not just DIYs or furniture either. I'm frustrated with special visitor-related RNG. I've had pretty good luck with Redd (only once has he had all fakes, every other time has been 1-2 real arts and there hasn't been any duplicates yet), but Saharah and Gulliver really need to have things I need/want more often.

i made 2 extra characters so that helped with the diys(but yes constant duplicates.) Far as I know I have all the general diys now(i did buy the last few wreath/crown ones on nookazon and the iron shelf on here). i've also traded for many diys. There are items my store has never sold either(ring box). I paid i think 10 tbt to catalog them. i still want to catalog the hamster cages. rng does tend to suck for me. redd almost always has all fakes, if i'm lucky he has one real item. it really bugs me with villagers pics. i've been trying for months to get them from raymond,roald and walt and they will not give them up. but i just got soleil to best friends and she immediately gave me hers. weird.

There are some DIYs I get way too often, but what I hate the most is when my villagers give me the same shirts over and over again. Idk how many of those ugly jockey uniforms my villagers have gifted me.

i've pretty much stopped looking a the items in nook's shop... it's always the same stuff and never anything new. i dont know how acnh team messed up so much in this game :|

While I’m not sure about the old-school jacket, I am 100% sure that the snowy and reindeer sweaters are locked to the winter season. It might not be the exact answer you wanted about this but I hope it clears one thing up. I have the full reindeer set, if you’d like to catalog it.

to put it simply i knew i was screwed rng wise the moment i saw my nook mile furniture color variants.
im stuck with the color choices that i really don't fancy but thanks to the folks i've traded on here, it's been bearable. same thing can be said about my nook's cranny merchandise too. it's hard out here folks.

Feels like every DIY I get nowadays I've already learned. Not sure if I have most of them now or it's just bad RNG. Feels like the latter since I still see a lot of recipes online that I don't have.

IKR HAHA there are countless times when I receive sports caps or gross jerseys in particular. I always get weird frilly old lady clothes too.

one thing to keep in mind with villagers is that the developers gave them clothing/furniture based on the character design, not on the game’s mechanics. That’s why certain villagers will come with rooms chock full of out of season furniture (I KNOW there are a couple villagers that have the illuminated set-one currently only obtainable via time traveling).

Ah I see! I somehow never realized that even though Dierdre's entire room is full of Fall stuff. That makes a lot more sense now that I think about it haha

Oh man I haven't seen Celeste in literal months!! I can't tell if I just suck at finding her, or if it's just been THAT long since she's visited. Last time I saw her was during Gemini season :/

i’ve completed my furniture catalog and diy collection for the most part but now, my clothing rng is sort of trash. it seems like i get the same 50 items cycling through the able sisters that i already have, which is frustrating and always leaves me feeling a bit disappointed ;u;

I still visit Nook's Cranny but with low expectations. By the way, you're not alone. I am getting a lot of repeated furniture being offered by them.

I can always go to someone's island and catalog every furniture. But I chose not to. Because I will run out of things to do daily.

I always get really trashy items in Nook's Cranny. One time, they were selling boxes twice in my store. I don't expect to get anything decent anytime I check in there. Hopefully Nook's Cranny will get another upgrade in the upcoming updates.

Listen, I haven't seen Celeste in 10,000 years. I'm beginning to wonder if I wronged her somehow because despite diligently filling up her brother's museum with lovely things to exhibit, she has not visited me but once in my island's history. I don't know if I just have horrible timing, but I've started to give up the ghost that I'll collect all her DIYs annnnnyytime soon.
