Anybody else sort their pockets?

I only move the tools to the top. I always carry extra tools, so often they take up like top two rows.

Yes! I have to have my tools first, then my wood, then the branches, then stone and clay, then iron, then an umbrella if I'm carrying one or watering can, seasonal mats, then everything else. Fossils normally end up on the bottom row in a line but I'm not terribly picky about that.

Yes, always. Tools are sorted in the first line by the most convienent order to switch them at. And when I go through my "daily tasks", everything I want to keep goes to the bottom of the inventory.

I do this all the time! It makes things easier to find and it’s just so much more convenient! My tools go on the top row, resources go on the second row and then the last two rows are for other items, I never mind which order the other items are in but I always make sure the same type of items are grouped together - ie fossils next to each other, furniture next to year other, clothes etc

my inventory is almost always full even though I'm constantly visiting my house to put it in my (also almost full, 1,600 space) storage or sell it in timmy and tommy's item box which I treat as a garbage bin

I do; I have my tools on the top row too, sorted in the order matching my tool ring. Then I'll have materials, then anything else. I usually put things I'm carrying that I don't want to sell towards the bottom right, and then anything I can sell will be in the middle.

My tools all have to fit the top row in a very specific order. If im crafting a lot ill keep all of my crafting materials in a 3x3 area to the right of my inventory below the tools, ill often separate things i need to sell right below the tools and everything to keep right at the bottom of my inventory

My tools are all at the top in a fixed order and I always carry crafting materials, which I put at the bottom right, also in a fixed order. I don't carry anything else, but if I'm planning on giving, say, a piece of clothing to one of my villagers, I put it at the bottom along with the crafting materials, because it will disappear from my inventory soon.

i even have a specific order for my tools that i've kept since i first started playing AC - fishing rod, net, shovel, watering can, slingshot. add the axe, vaulting pole, ladder and umbrella onto that in this game, then crafting resources. anything i'm holding onto temporarily goes last

edit: i also have an order for my resources lol; hardwood, wood, softwood, iron nuggets, stones, clay, sticks and customisation kits

Yup. Tools on the top row, in a certain order so I can see at a glance which need replacing.

Items I'm holding for chores in the bottom right corner (some fruit, mainly, so I can move trees or break rocks). Anything I don't want to sell, in the bottom row - resources, items I'm placing, gifts, etc.

Things to sell off in the middle rows, starting from the left side and filling spaces.

I keep the tool ring in a specific order, too, so I can quickly grab what I need.

Yes always! Tools at the top followed by all the crafting materials, then other misc stuff. I will re-sort the misc stuff now and then! I have to or I won't be able to think straight lol

I tend to sort them by type of thing? So tools go on the first row then after the tools go my crafting materials then everything else that isnt going to stay in my inventory perminately go after those. ^^

I only ever organise the tools so that they're in line and on the bottom - I get so lazy with my inventory and usually I end up selling/storing most items anyways!

Yeah, it at least always looks like this... top row for tools, bottom row for raw crafting mats (as soon as I hit 31, I move the 1 to the bottom row and put the stack of 30 on the third row, above the same mat, then it gets put in storage next time I go home) - anything else I try to organise as I get it, like if I'm collecting shells I try to keep them on the third row - my four daily fossils go down the right side column.

My row of tools echoes my tool ring also...

The clockwise order of my tool ring matches the left-to-right order of my top row in the inventory. Useful because it means I can, for example, select fishing rod from my tool ring and if I then quickly want to change to my net, I just hit left on my D-Pad to pick the "previous" tool (since D-Pad cycles through left-to-right/right-to-left order of items in inventory, not the clockwise/anti-clockwise order of your tool ring).

I have a stone axe and regular axe but only one in tool ring, so I can quickly pick the stone axe in my tool ring, the press right on my d-pad to get the normal axe. I think it's useful because with muscle memory the process feels pretty much instant. The order of my tools is important for this too...I have my ladder and pole next to eachother to quickly switch on D-Pad, then my net and fishing rod for the same ready, shovel and axe similarly - and my net, fishing rod, slingshot and shovel are all next to eachother (when using D-Pad at least) because they're the tools I use the most.

I always put my tools in the top line of my pockets, but other than that the only time I really sort things is when I'm going to trade. I like to have those items in the bottom row, generally on the right side to keep them away from everything else in my pockets! It's helpful so I don't miss anything or forget to bring anything with me.

My pockets are always super organized, even when they're filled with things that I don't plan on keeping in them.

I usually keep all my tools in the top left eight boxes (putting them in the top row would mean more scrolling to access all of them). The reg. axe is just temporary, stuff like that usually goes int he eight spaces below my tools.

And here's my quick access layout. Every time I have to drop all my tools (eg. to sell turnips) when I pick them back up they HAVE to be reorganized out like this. I can't handle it any other way lol.
These tools are organized so that the ones I use the most are on the easy directional spaces (up, down, left, right) and the ones I use less often and on the diagonal spaces.

At the very top I have every single tool plus the ladder and vault pole. then materials following. sometimes fruit is right after materials if i am landscaping so gotta eat some fruit and lastly comes fossils (i used to drop them outside the museum until 6pm but i have 5 stars so I have to keep them on me) and whatever I need to sell

Always! I organize my tools at the top by alphabetical order.... lol. Then materials by type (wood next to wood and tree branches, the iron/stone/clay in a row, etc.). And then any other random items I'll group by item type with whatever space I have left.
