alll my tears, frobert's leavin' meee

so i have zell in my campsite, and i thought 'wow he's cute, i want him to move into my town!' so i started looking up ways that might... help speed up the process of making an unwanted/not-really-loved villager move out.

while i'm doing all of this, my favorite villager, frobert comes over and says he's moving out! even when i said 'don't go!' he'll be leaving me regardless.

If he hasnt actually packed yet, there is still a chance to stop him! Once one of my villagers asked to leave and I agreed that they should. And I think the day before he started packing I found him inside his house and he was second guessing his move and I was asked again if he should leave or stay(I let him go though, idk what happens if you say to stay, but I assume they do).

Villagers will sometimes mention it too. They say something like "I hear ____ is having cold feet, you should go talk to him"

Aww, I'm sorry Frobert is currently leaving you...but yes, there are chances you can stop him. c: You should try it, and maybe a different villager will move out!
How many villagers did you have in your town when Frobert asked to move? If you had 10 someone else will move out, and if you had 9 and you manage to convince Frobert I don't think anyone else will move out. They'll just let Zell move in. Frobert could just have been planning to move, not all because of Zell!

Yeah just check up on him constantly! Im not sure if he HAS to be inside his house or not.

Well, I played a game with Zell and he says he's gonna be moving in soon! As for how many villagers, I have 9 in total. Is 10 the max I can have?

Yes 10 is the max, the tenth will come either from the campsite or from a village you have visited from a friend. Sorry to hear about Frobert. On City Folk I found writing letters to villagers who left often helped stop them from moving away too.
