What is your favorite movie adaptation from a book?

Since I posted a pole on books and movies, I figured I should create a post What is your favorite adaptation of a movie from a book?

For a single movie from a book, my favorite adaptation is The Green Mile by Stephen King.

I’ll get into series’s next, probably tomorrow!

first film/book that comes to mind for me is howl's moving castle! although i loved the book i actually have a softer spot for the film (especially as i read the book after, the film just captured the magic and world so well!)

Forrest Gump. The book was awful and the film was much better.

Willy Wonka and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Although I have yet to read the book...

Personally I'd have to say Perks of Being a Wallflower! I already loved the book as is, but man does Logan Lerman do an amazing job at playing his role.

A close second is probably The Fault In Our Stars.
