Using Villagers Houses to get ideas for your own house in ACNL?

When I first started my town I visited Diana's house and saw how cute/elegant it was. So I tried the same thing for my house lol

Anyways, sticking to the topic. I never actually tried giving this a try. I wonder if I should visit the Villager's in my town to see if I can get a creative idea of my own house.
