I was planning to just pre-order the New Nintendo HHD edition from Japan. The thing is I'm from the U.S, I've read that the consoles from Japan won't be compatible with U.S games. So I'm wondering if its true...I would wait for the New 3ds to come in during September but it's not even announced if there will be, plus someone said it won't be available unless requested with popular demand.

Yes, you won't be able to play US games on it.
"It won't be available unless there is popular demand" is BS. Nintendo probably know by now whether or not they plan on releasing it in the west, it just depends if/when they decide to announce it.
