Question about making a new town + saving villagers...

Okay so... i've basically done all there is to do in my town currently. and i'm considering starting over because honestly, i've always hated my town layout. there is one problem...

i have all 10 of my dream villagers and i really really want to keep them... all of them.

The only way to really do that would be to let them move out to another game file right? and then move them into my new town? i know we can't really transfer save files, so if i started a new town on another system i couldn't move the save file with the villagers moved into it to MY system right? i don't have a game cartridge... i got the special edition one with the game saved to it.

other option would be just to... hope i could buy all of them over again. oof.

Yeah, you can't transfer villagers to a new town. Your best bet is to have people hold them for you as they move out and then reset and get them back. I'd offer to help but am currently at capacity holding villagers in my holding town for a few friends.
