Your town name & why

My town's name is Sunshine. Why? Because GreenGrove wouldn't fit. Sunshine was also the name of my town in City Folk.

I could have spent more time thinking of something better, but I started the game a day late (got it on NA release day but didn't start playing until the next day) and I wanted to get started.

But I want to know one thing. We have ordinances in our town. Why don't we have the power to rename the town?! I AM THE MAYOR AFTER ALL.

I named my town Maybe out of the belief that maybe, just maybe,I could get that perfect town I wanted.

I've used O'Fallon since 2002 even though I don't live in an O'Fallon, because one my own town's name is too big, and second, there's an O'Fallon, Missouri, and an O'Fallon, Illinois. :P

Swansea is after the song of the same name by Joanna Newsom (kind of obsessed with her atm tbh)
I love Joanna Newsom so much!* Awesome idea to name a town after one of her songs. <3

On topic: my town is named Morimint. I wanted something with mori, and I love peppermint. Also, the "minty woods" (new, fresh woods) idea kind of matches the "turning over a new leaf" in my head.

I think it flows really well, it suits my town, and last time I've checked in the Dream Suite, there seems to be no other Morimint around.

Anteiku, after the caf? in Tokyo Ghoul. I'll probably regret it later down the line but for now I like it anyway.

I named my town Mykonos, after a very beautiful Greek island. I really like the look and sound of the name, and my City Folk town was named Serifos, which is also the name of another Greek island.

My town is called Martock ^-^
It's the name of the street I lived on before I left home to move to the city.
It fits AC perfectly as well, 'mar' is Spanish for 'ocean' and 'tock' is like 'tick-tock' as in time, both of which are big parts of the game. ^,^

Achewood is after the webcomic of the same name by Chris Onstad, which I was reading a lot at the time that I started my town last summer (and really need to continue reading one day because it is so great)

Swansea is after the song of the same name by Joanna Newsom (kind of obsessed with her atm tbh)

Sudden is an Arrested Development reference, after Sudden Valley, the subdivision that the Bluth Company is attempting to build. (It's brought up in one episode how unappealing the name is because it implies that "something awful could happen all of a sudden" and I just thought that was so funny)

I specifically chose names that are references to things because I don't trust myself to make up a name that doesn't sound stupid and that I won't get sick of after a week, ha
Swansea is also a city in Wales !

- - - Post Merge - - -

Also mine's called Acre because Four Acre wouldn't fit so yeah.. just simply Acre

My first town was Termina. And my mayor was Majora. Majora's Mask has always been one of my absolute favorite games and the names were cool.

I since lost the cartridge with Termina ('scuds me while I cry) and bought a new copy and named my town Cinnabar. Like Cinnabar island from Pokemon. I like the name and I've always felt like my town was my own little island. Plus, I hadn't given a town name much though so when I started the game I kinda had to come up with something quick

my town's name is Avalon.

why? Avalon is the name of a legendary island in the Arthurian tales, as well as the location where Excalibur was forged.

it sounds kinda cool, too.

XIII is my town name. Most of my AC games have some sort of Kingdom Hearts theme going on (City Folk was Traverse, as was Wild World), so it's an indirect reference this time.

i had used names like Shibuya and Tottori so Seattle seemed nice. lots of people apparently don't like rl town names but Seattle was named after a chief so yeah. Seattle popped into my head when i was thinking of nature and mountains and stuff somehow.

Kibicity because 'kibi' is my sister's nickname. And for my second town, BourgVoeu means 'WishTown' n_n

I just wanted to name my town something funny and the character "Torgo" always comes to mind. So, I was inspired by my deep and possibly unhealthy love for MST3K.

I love oranges and luckily for me, my town has oranges, so Oranje was a great fit for it. :') Plus it sounds fancy!

My new town is Siena. It is a town in Italy. I dream one day of visiting or even living there.

My last town of Lys was named after the French river also a fictional town in book series Song of Ice and Fire

I used the town name Faraway because my town is based off a fairytale theme

And most fairytale stories start with....
Once upon a time, there was a faraway place, castle, village, etc.
So i felt it fit perfectly with my theme. :D
