I happen to time travel alot in new leaf, for various reasons.
However, I have nocited that some choose not to.
Any ideas from both sides on if its worth it to TT?
I like to TT to kick things off quite quickly.. Meet some new villagers, get a kickstart with the town.. Especially since I wanted to get into New Leaf and play it lots.. Which you can't do much of in the first few days..
But not TT'ing definitely lets you get to know individual villagers much more, and I reckon people's dream team lists would be a lot more diverse if TT'ing wasn't a thing
I mean, TTing has too many positives to be a negative.
-Helps get villagers out faster
-Helps get villagers in faster
-Helps get dream villagers faster (cycling, TTing a villager out for someone else...)
-Helps make money faster (to go to the island and sell at Re-Tail...)
-Helps get turnips
-Helps get items faster (TTing to a holiday/event...)
There's advantages to TT'ing and not TT'ing, but I prefer not TT'ing, unless I'm cycling. I wouldn't really consider it cheating, since I have heard of some people who just TT a day forward when they have nothing else to do on the current day.
I haven't TT'd yet.. I'm not sure of the reason but I guess it's just the safer option.. and I get more of a sense of achievement Each to there own though!!
Personally I was against TT-ing at first, and I vowed to never do so. But I found it necessary to TT to get villagers out, which is the only reason O TT.
After Halloween I stopped playing but once the new year came, I TTed back to Halloween and got caught up with everything. Sometimes I'd go through four days per day, and I'd like to say it was nice while it lasted. TTing should only be used for that in my opinion, not all the time. I don't want to call it cheating but honestly if you go day by day using the whole 24 that is given to you, you could find yourself searching for new things to do each day like fishing or planting. there's always something to do no matter what, it's a better habit to play in anyway. I don't think any less of people who do it regularly, though, it's their life ha
I don't think of TTing as "cheating" whatsoever. but for some reason it makes me anxious. I kind of like the stability of having each day match up with the current IRL date. Idk maybe I'm just crazy.
Another reason is I'm not very good at it. I've tried to TT villagers out before but it never works and I dont really have the patience to do it right haha
It has it's advantages and disadvantages. Nothing much else to say about it...
I suppose if using a legitimate feature in the game is cheating, then I guess I'm a cheater. Personally, however, I believe It's another way to play the game. <3
I only TT when I want villagers that already mentioned the date they moving out and put them into boxes for the adoptee =x
I don't TT because I am afraid of the risk of losing any of my villagers (they re not my dreamie but I already had a special bond with them I don't want to lose them). Besides, I felt I love to play my game slow and steady =)
I don't really consider it cheating. Cheating implies you are breaking some sort of rule in order to get an advantage over other players, and traveling around backwards or forwards isn't breaking any sort of rule because there aren't any rules in animal crossing. However, I do think its kind of lame when people time travel to certain events and then spoil the events for other people- if you want to play at a normal pace its not fun to know about everything before it happens!!
I personally time travel in my cycle town but sometimes I will time travel a few hours or a day or two backward/forward on my main town in order to make up for time IRL that I could not play. I'm really busy sometimes and I hate to miss out on stuff just because of my own chaotic schedule! I play animal crossing to relax and I found that when I tried not to travel at all I would get stressed about playing at a certain time each day in order to not miss events or bugs or shops or what have you. Knowing that, if the only time I have to play animal crossing happens to be a few hours after midnight, I can just go back and set the clock to day time in order to enjoy what I missed then I have much more fun. ^^
I think it's silly that people look down on others for time traveling. They bought the 3DS. They bought the game. Let them play how they want. Why do you care so much?
I do mini-time travels (a few hours-a few days ahead/behind) to speed things up a little bit. I just don't want to lose anything.important.
My main reason that I've stated several times in the past is that I HAVE to TT in order to even buy and sell in my own shops. How the heck can I enjoy my game when my hours available to play are so wonky that Re-Tail is always closed??? Yes, I can get beetles, but can't sell them. I can see my stores, but not get in.
Goodness, not everybody can play "regular hours."
I DO have a couple towns I TT in small increments in because I've gotten them to cycle villagers to help people get their dreamies. My main town, tho, I TT so I can shop and enjoy it - not to be stuck in perpetual darkness and loneliness.
i don't tt because i'd rather go with the flow of things and play the game slowly, one day at a time. plus there's the thought of me screwing something up like losing one of my favorite villagers so i don't mess with that stuff. i'm in no rush with this game so i have no problem whatsoever playing it in real time as opposed to playing several ingame days at a time.
Sure, TTing has its ups (and downs), but everyone plays how they want to.
Personally, I don't TT at all. The game may seem slow, but that's alright with me. I really get to know my villagers, do things on my own pace, unlocking new things are much more rewarding, and it just seems to fit the AC spirit. Since AC is a life simulation game, and you can't TT irl, I don't TT in AC.
It's depends on your definition of cheating. I do not believe there is any way to cheat in Animal Crossing. Even if there were codes to completely fill your museum, that is not my reason for playing. I play to make my town pretty, and it never even crossed my mind until now that I'm a cheater and looked down upon by non-TTers.
It's not really a legitimate feature, Isabelle doesn't say ''Oh hey, by the way if you get bored feel free to get in your Tardis and float through time.''
It's just an option that's there for if your clock is out of whack that people have taken advantage of.
Personally I don't TT, I feel it cheapens the game and there's just no sense of accomplishment. But hey, if other people enjoy that, it's their game and it doesn't affect me so I really couldn't care less.
Well I've never TTd on my main game, and I'm proud of that. I have, however TTd on my brothers game, which just became mine a few days ago. They both have advantages and disadvantages. I love TTing because it makes the game so much quicker and easier, and maybe I love it because so far from my brothers town in three days I've gotten Zucker, Zell, Pashmina, Bruce, Ankha, and Marshal. Not TTing makes it feel more real though, and in my opinion gives you a stronger bond with your town and characters. There's always that voice telling you "you know you hate Mott*, its just a few days until they're gone!" and you want to do it, but you resist. If you do, the reward is great, and it personally makes my town feel more pure and true.
*or Katt, or Canberra, or Margie, or Clyde, or Broffina, or Peggy,or Hamphrey, or... forget it... I simply have the worst villagers.
