Your opinions on TT vs Not TT?

I don't TT just because I have no reason to.

TTing is not cheating. Everyone plays their game a different way.
I already see this thread turning into yet another argument.

It's not really a legitimate feature, Isabelle doesn't say ''Oh hey, by the way if you get bored feel free to get in your Tardis and float through time.''
It's just an option that's there for if your clock is out of whack that people have taken advantage of.

Personally I don't TT, I feel it cheapens the game and there's just no sense of accomplishment. But hey, if other people enjoy that, it's their game and it doesn't affect me so I really couldn't care less.

lol you just contradicted yourself. You say it's not a legitimate feature, yet you say this:
It's just an option that's there for if your clock is out of whack

Well, yes, it is a legitimate option. If it weren't a legitimate feature in the game, then it would either a)have to be achieved through some sort of cheat device, or b)not even be a possibility to change the time.

Time Traveling is cheating. And if you say otherwise, you are probably just a person who believes cheating is wrong so don't want to admit that you are doing it. I have Time Traveled before, so yes I have cheated. Oh well, I paid the price for it, but still Time Traveling is okay, it's just cheating.

You Time Travel to make the game faster not playing the proper way. It's cheating to make vilalgers move out ahead of schedule. It's cheating to open stores faster than the proper way. It's cheating to Time Travel to unlock features faster. It's cheating to go and get items faster. Just admit you cheat, omg there is nothing wrong with it.

I say otherwise because it bothers me to be told the way I play the game is cheating, that I am a cheater. I don't believe it is cheating, and the only way for me to be convinced otherwise is word from nintendo or the people that developed the game that it is. (No offense, but a random TBT'er isn't going to change my mind) If you can dig up a link where the developers explicitly state it is cheating, I'll rest my case.

I think it's silly that people look down on others for time traveling. They bought the 3DS. They bought the game. Let them play how they want. Why do you care so much?

I do mini-time travels (a few hours-a few days ahead/behind) to speed things up a little bit. I just don't want to lose anything.important.

I have heard of incidences (granted, not as often) of TTers belittling and looking down on those of us that do not TT. As I said, it is not often, but it is not unheard of either.

My main reason that I've stated several times in the past is that I HAVE to TT in order to even buy and sell in my own shops. How the heck can I enjoy my game when my hours available to play are so wonky that Re-Tail is always closed??? Yes, I can get beetles, but can't sell them. I can see my stores, but not get in.

Goodness, not everybody can play "regular hours."

I DO have a couple towns I TT in small increments in because I've gotten them to cycle villagers to help people get their dreamies. My main town, tho, I TT so I can shop and enjoy it - not to be stuck in perpetual darkness and loneliness.

My daughter works weird hours, but she does not TT. What she did to fix this effect is to set her clock at a 12 hour differential (hers is 12 hours ahead of mine) so that her daytime is at night (when she is working...third shifter). This way, she plays day by day, just at an offset time.

For myself, I do not TT either. I do not really think it is a bad thing if that is what you do, but I'm just not into it. I am anxious that I would mess something up. I also enjoy the relaxed feel that [to me] only comes from not TTing.

I TT'd at first because I really wanted the QR Code Machine and The Able Sisters. I only TT now to set the hours back to 7ish so I can catch more island bugs/fish per day. Since that's right around my dinner/family time, the best money making hours are pretty much over when I'm finished with my day, and I really don't want to have to switch my ordinances. Sure, it's cheating, I guess, but it's my game and I don't really care what anyone else thinks. It's not like it's significantly damages their games in any way...

My off hours are not regular, either. They are so sporadic that just setting the DS clock is not effective. Having flex hours sucks. My hours are sporadic, not regularly sporadic, if that makes sense. Heck, if I had a regular schedule regardless of the time, I would have just changed my DS clock ages ago.

As is, I need to change a few hours here and there almost every time I play. But goodness, I hope that changes in the next few months. It's a real pain.

TTing is not cheating. The villagers even have rumors that say "OH HEY ARE YOU A TIME TRAVELER" yeh ok I think Nintendo would of gotten rid of that then and made it so that you can only change it with the internal clock idk :/

I use it to move villagers out, order things and other things. It's very helpful

If there are rumors going around, you're obviously doing something bad or attention catching. If a villager is spreading a rumor about you, that means it's something bad. No one starts rumors that someone has done something good. They start rumors of bad things - therefore, TTing is a bad thing (cheating)

Are you serious right now?! XD

THEY ADDED THE EARLY AND LATE NIGHT ORDINANCES FOR A REASON!

I mean, TTing has too many positives to be a negative.
-Helps get villagers out faster
-Helps get villagers in faster
-Helps get dream villagers faster (cycling, TTing a villager out for someone else...)
-Helps make money faster (to go to the island and sell at Re-Tail...)
-Helps get turnips
-Helps get items faster (TTing to a holiday/event...)

And then the negatives of those.

- Can lose a villager you don't want to have leave
- Can have a villager you don't want in your town moe in
- See above
- See below
- Can spoil turnips

I don't think rumors always mean you're doing something bad. :] I've had rumors saying that I'm a 'flower fan,' a 'green thumb,' and a 'social butterfly' which aren't bad.

Used to do it a lot in GC and WW, stopped with CF and haven't done it in NL. Only thing I'd do any TTing for is for keeping retail open long enough for people to sell turnips. Had kind soul in /r/ACTurnips do that for me and some others once, I've vowed to try and do the same if I ever get spectacular prices again.

Also:

-Weeds
-BedHair
-Environmental Destruction
-Villagers not recognizing you because you were gone for so long so you have to talk to them again

Those aren't rumors. "Social butterfly" can't even be a rumor if people see you going around and talking to you. A rumor is defined as a story that is circulating with uncertain truth or on unverified account. If people see you like flowers and spread it around to other people, you can't consider that a rumor.

I am currently not TTing, but I have done it extensively in the past.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought they were rumors. I don't think I've had rumors about me yet, so that's what I thought they were. It goes something along these lines - "Hey I heard you're kind of a stump maker, is it true?" "I'm jealous, I wish I was popular enough to gossip about."
Something like that. :]
