The ability to customize your town completely. If you could be able to move buildings like re-tail and the town hall where you wanted them.
I would also love to designate certain spots for villagers to place their houses. You could build a residential neighborhood without having to plot reset!

I just think being able to have total control over the customization of your town would be epic. What about you guys?

Being able to designate spots for villagers to place their houses is a must have. I'd agree with having to move certain buildings but not have complete power to change every single thing. Sometimes, it's best to leave things in a natural state but I can definitely see where you're going with this!

I just feel like being able to place buildings would solve a lot of what people end up reseting for. If you don’t like where your buildings are you could just put them where you want them instead of having to start a whole new town.

I'd love to be able to move villagers at any time, and be able to upgrade their houses inside and out.

honestly this will probably be an option

if it isn't that would be weird since they really push customization with animal crossing games. being able to customize maps is just the next thing they should move onto to let us get creative. pLeAsE

Moving buildings like town hall and re-tail seems very unlinely, since they'll probably just be at set locations in the town just like every other game. It doesn't make much sense to move permanent buildings like that. I know it's a desire but I doubt it'll be a thing.

Now if we could pick where villagers move in, that would save a lot of time spent soft-resetting for the perfect spot.

Yeah, I hope this happens too. You shouldn't be able to get rid of the Town Hall and shops, obviously, but being able to move them somewhere else would be great.

Actually, I hope that happens with rocks too. If Nintendo insists I have to have 5-7 unbreakable rocks, fine. But let me choose where to put them so they don't interrupt paths or that perfect house or PWP spot.

Personally I hope shops/ town hall location is fixed, but hopefully villager homes and rocks as well the option to move a pwp in one day instead of destroy and rebuild taking several days.

I feel if they turn the game into too much of a sims game the charm will be lost, but everyone already plot resets so whats the harm in making it easier.

I definitely think that we should have the ability to decide where villagers move in, but other than that? It would be bizarre to have the option to move buildings like the town hall.

i feel like being able to choose where they move to wont feel very animal crossing like truthfully
and i dont think theres any chance of choosing where the main buildings are gonna be other than resetting til your happy
and in my opinion a town looks much better when someone makes what they are given to work out great than to try to make everything perfect

I'm gonna chime in a bit, I think it'd be nice to be able to choose the initial positions of your town hall and shops but not be able to change them after that. But villager houses and rocks should be moveable at all times lol

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't want total control over everything. I'd like better placement of PWPs, assuming they come back, but I don't want to have control over animal house placement or anything else. That takes away the charm of Animal Crossing for me.

It would be in fact nice if you could decide the placement of permanent buildings like the town
hall and such at the beginning and also later where the villager houses should be. What I would
really like is if you would get informed that a new villager is going to move into the town soon
and you could already choose the placement for the house, so that the villager is moving right
into the spot you selected without any trouble.

I would also love it if you could even create your own town layout, but moving buildings and
houses would be already a helpful option.

Deciding where the villagers are going to live would be enough for me. I REALLY don't hope you can customize everything. I mean, I love how every New Leaf map is original. I would hate it becoming an option that we can create spot-on-spot similar lay-outs like other people.

Starting to realise my hope that we go back to basics is an unpopular one! I hope for no customisation of where the villagers go etc. I want it to feel like a living town rather than something that I need to control and manage. I hope it re captures that quaint charm! It needs to have life and quirks and personality, and random things that make you keep checking back! I want to be surprised by it constantly, not the mastermind behind it all :(

the struggle of map resetting and plot resetting shows you put a lot of effort into your town and it gives you such a good sense of accomplishment. also the charm is that everything is completely random and personally i enjoy seeing where villagers chose to place their houses and all that, it makes it seems real

I really think having the option for all this micromanaging would be great, while also having the option not to have it. Being able to choose whether you want to choose is the best choice of all.

^Holy heck that'd be so cool? Like I'm picturing Rover or someone will ask you to draw what you think the town looks like, and you literally get to doodle it and the game will try and interpret that drawing and generate all the necessary features around it. Like you could just draw a squiggle and the game will try to fit the closest possible river design into the squiggle and generate all the other features around it. What a cool idea!

Honestly I like the aspect of not having control over everything because too much freedom will result in me not being able to make decisions. So I hope that they'll at least give me the option to set up a town the classic way.
