Does anyone play yokai watch series? If so, what's your favorite yokai?
Also what's your favorite jibanyan?

My favorite yokai have to be Noko, especially bloominoko.
It's just so freaking cute!
My fav jibanyan is any of the fruit ones. They're all so adorable and make me wanna eat them all.

I've been playing around with the second one, Psychic Specters, the last couple of weeks! I'm not very far into it but it's a fun game. I don't know too many yo kai so I can't say which one is my favorite yet xD But hopefully I'll get to know more of them soon!

I really regretted not buying that one, but it had a considerably larger file and I had no room unless I was okay with deleting all of my games.
I got fleshy souls!

Yay! Other Yo Kai Watch fans! I played Psychic Specters just recently & loved it! I had so much fun meeting the Yo Kai. I haven't completed my Medalium but I played long after the game was released so I had a hard time finding players to trade with. I currently have Yo Kai Watch 3 but I'm having a hard time getting into it. I love some of the new Yo Kai but I'm just not connecting to the game like I did with Specters.

Edit: I forgot to list my favorites. Hmm... my favorite Yo Kai is probably Toiletta/Foiletta. (I like that they're mischievous.) My favorite Jibanyan is actually just Jibanyan. I love his backstory & he's just really endearing to me.

I was having the same issues, no one seems to be very interested in yokai watch and I read that because of this, they made the original yokai watch 3 a Japan exclusive. Which made me so sad because I really wanted the Sushi title!
I haven't gotten the latest game though, because even though I love the series, I find that theres a little bit of repetitiveness because evey game is based in the same town. What you're paying for is for a new storyline and new yokai. I've played 1 and 2 so I'm holding off on 3 until I'm really just desperate for a new game.
I had lost all my game data a while back so I've restarted yokai watch 2, but I will trade with you if you ever want to! At least my game exclusives!

...when I get around to befriending them all. Gosh, why did they make it so hard?! LOVE. ME. PLEASE.

I've played up to Psychic Specters, but I only finished the main quest on that one. So I basically just played Fleshy Souls twice then.

Anyways, my favorite Yokai is probably Frostina. She's really cute, and I use Blizzaria on most of my teams.

It seems like people were interested in 2 (all versions) when they released but now finding people to trade with is hard. In 3 you play two characters who are in different towns. One character is mostly where the others take place but the second character is in a totally new area. I think I'm having problems warming up to the new area. The battle system us different also - which is also taking me some time to adjust to. Bleh.

Oh no! I'm so sorry about your save data! I can't imagine how frustrating that it. I'd love to trad with you but I don't have a full Medalium so I might not have ones you're looking for.

Some of them are exceedingly hard to befriend. It's maddening! There are some I've tried befriending for weeks & still aren't friends.

Psychic Specters is the only one I've played. I've done some of the after story parts but there are so many I don't know if I'll ever really complete it. And I'm trying to like 3 but I'm struggling to get hooked.

Iunno if it was popular since all the articles I read said yokai watch 1 had amazing sales but 2 had terrible sales in the. U.S.
But I'm still sad I'll never experience those food themed yokai.

I'm sorry you're having to start all over again & go through the "befriending grind". I understand that higher level yokai would be harder to befriend but sometimes it takes forever even for low rank yokai.

Hmm... the trading boards I've tried seemed pretty active when 2 first came out so I guess it looked more popular than it might have really been. Unfortunately, most 2 trading boards are pretty dead now.

Exactly! I feel like they made it so much harder in 2 to befriend them, even if you have their favorite foods, as opposed to 1, where I feel the befriending rates may have been higher, or maybe I was just very lucky but friending them was easy to the point that even just being higher rank made it almost effortless to befriend them. They just wanted to be your friend for just being so strong. At least the very low rank ones. But yeah, 2 makes it hard both ways no matter what and it's very discouraging. I couldn't befriend a Rattelle, which I needed for an early on quest for 2 days straight between me and my sister, who HAD finished her game and we both felt so defeated.
And I think the japanese yokai 3 had new yokai, some of which represented foods and I thought that was too cute. But I'm realizing that those ones are from the 2nd generation I think. Like the shrimp bowl yokai and riceball one. I love all the fruit nyans too!!

My favourite Yokai is Robonyan, partially for aesthetics and the other half for his somewhat ... ‘questionable’ actions from the anime (I’ve only seen the Japanese dub of that scene but it is certainly something to behold).

I haven't played the first game but when I was reading about PS I saw a lot of people saying it was easier to befriend the yokai in the first game. I never thought I'd spend over a week trying to befriend Schmoopie though. I thought having their favorite food would be a help but nope! It still takes forever to befriend them. My YKW 3 has at least one new food themed yokai that I've befriended. It's Salty Bacon who looks like bacon & is grumpy (so he's "salty"). I haven't befriended many yokai in 3 yet so I haven't seen any more. The Fruitnyans are really cute but befriending them took an eternity.

Well I can attest to that since I had it. It was ridiculously easy. Tedious at times but after having had played 2, they really made it seem almost too easy. I distinctly remember being able to befriend even multiples in group battles, which I have not experienced in 2. On top of that, I think the problem was too, is that yw1 was very easy to cheat. They had to fix a lot of things to essentially force you to play the game by the books. I still like it regardless but still wish it was a tad easier to befriend yokai.
I had to look up Salty Bacon and omg I really want him! Maybe he's enough to convince me to get 3 then haha.

Robonyan is really cool! I haven't befriended him in Psychic Specters yet but I did at least get to meet him. Is the cartoon on Cartoon Network the same as the anime? I haven't seen the cartton unfortunately but now I'm really curious to know what Robonyan did in the anime.

I have Yokai Watch 2 Bony Spirit. Bought it, yet I haven't played it for some reason. I just have it sitting there with a few other games I haven't had the time to play.

I can't say who my favorite Yokai is yet, but this Komasan plush sold me on the game well, that and people kept saying it was like Pokemon.

This is just kinda off for a game theme, I'm assuming its the anime theme and thats why they threw it in there.

Even though the female part is good it's not good enough to overcome the badness of the rest of the song. The first time I heard it it my brain sort of went "Ew". I thought it felt odd for a video game as well. As far as I know the theme song for the cartoon has the same lyrics as the theme song for Psychic Specters.

I haven't played far enough into 3 to be able to wander just trying to catch any yo kai I come across. I'm still being lead to yo kai by the story. If I get further in I'll let you know if it seems any easier.

I have Yokai Watch 2 Bony Spirit. Bought it, yet I haven't played it for some reason. I just have it sitting there with a few other games I haven't had the time to play.

If you get the chance I'd give Bony Spirits a try. The yo kai are really fun & cute... sort of like naughtier Pokemon. Komasan is heckin' adorable!

I bought the games, but have yet to find the time to start. Looks like it would be up my alley. I'm guessing Venoct and Kyubi are late game characters.
