Would you consider getting a second Island?

I have a spare Switch (I'm currently playing on my Lite) and was thinking of getting a physical copy of the game to start up a second island.
However; other than having the extra villagers and possibly doing a different theme (I kind of wanted a horror-themed Island), I don't know if it would be a good idea.
I had 2 copies of NL and I felt that getting the second one which I mainly used as a cycling town kind of burned me out at the time.
But also, being a avid AC collector, I thought it would be nice to have the physical copy out to display (my current one is a digital download).
Is anyone on here running two islands?

If I had another switch I would have another island just for it to be southern hemisphere and to cycle villagers, so I could help people get their dreamies, like people helped me. But I would not look forward to get through the whole tutorial again ><

I would not think twice about buying a second copy of the game for a second island. I have so many more ideas for themes, villagers, etc, and I think I would have loads of fun.

but this crap where it requires a second console AND a second NSO subscription (or user if you have the family plan)? Not even a little worth it. I would happily give Nintendo an extra $60 for a second island but $260 is right out.

I really want another island just to goof around with and to have a cycling town but I can't justify buying another Switch + another copy of the game. Especially since the tutorial is so annoying imo. If I had the resources, a reason to buy another copy/switch, or the patience, I'd probably do it though. I'd maybe try to do a horror/spooky themed island, it'd be kind of fun to decorate an entire island completely different from what I'm doing with my main island.

I intend to start a second island on my Lite at some point. I have a physical copy of the game so easily enough done. I'm just not quite ready to do so yet.

after consulting with a friend of mine, who said it's indeed possible to play a digital copy on another switch too, i'm heavily considering it. there has been a joke going around among me and my three coworkers, who all bought a switch just for acnh. we all like different colors and we have been friends for a few years now, so we were considering to get a switch lite in a different color. i personally would like another island very much because i wouldn't feel as guilty about resetting, plus, i can just live a life void of dreamies or have villagers i don't have on my current island because i have no more open spots. so yeah, bring it on.

Im thinking for another island because my dad wants to play as well since he owns a switch.

I've never felt the need to have a second copy of the game. It would be very time consuming albeit also very fun.

I would honestly wait to see if Nintendo will ever release a complete physical version of the game. My copy is digital, and I honestly feel bad for those who have a physical copy because the game is incomplete due to the model that Nintendo chose to use with AC (basically, games as a service).

I say this because I feel exactly the same way about SFV.

I would maybe have a second island if I could afford a second switch, but it's easier to rain icecream than that happening.

I reeeaaaalllllyyyyy want a second island. I want to completely redo my island and just start from scratch, but I'm not going to reset because I already have a good amount of my dreamies, and I let my mom have a spot on my island (We've always shared towns so it's only fair) and she would be devastated if I wrecked all of her progress. And I'm not about to spend millions of bells moving buildings and destroying / rebuilding ramps and bridges. I love my town so far, but I would love to have another one just to mess around with and get more of the villagers I wish I could fit. But needing to get another switch? No way. If I could just get a physical copy (I have digital) and them be two separate islands, I 100% would

I honestly miss cycling like I did in New Leaf. Having my cycling thread was such a fun rewarding feeling, especially because I gave every villager for free. If I had another Switch I would literally just use it for that.

I’d kill for a second island, with all the new customization options I’m really bummed I’m limited to one. I’d consider butpying another copy of the game, but another switch is just out of the question.

I’ve been saving for a Switch Lite so I can have a second island! I want one that me and my mom can work on together as she’s never played AC and wants to play with me ;-; <3

I already spend way too much time on this game. I can't imagine making a second island (as tempting as it is) because I would literally never stop playing. I know I wouldn't have the willpower to stop lol

I feel like getting a second copy would just completely burn me out. I spend a lot of time on my current island as is. I might consider it in the future as a means to sell/give away villagers but that’s about it.

I was heavily considering buying a Switch Lite to start a second island just so I can experiment with the Southern Hemisphere, and I would also use it for trading purposes.

However, unless it goes on sale for a really good price. I’m going to hold off for now even if I’m really tempted to.

Yes. It is not even consideration but a decision. Now that I’m a bit more wiser regarding how l started my first island, I can avoid the mistakes I did with it such as picking cute villagers as my first villagers only for them to end up in DIY houses, have the said houses on the beach until I have terraformed the land and then decide where to put houses, experience the different hemisphere, pick up daily DIYs from the other town, maybe even avoid doing the turnip market with others all together, cycle my starter villagers back and forth in order to get their original houses etc etc. Just thinking about it makes me excited.

I was thinking of getting Switch Lite for its portable abilities and keep the ACNH Switch as a home console. I can take the smaller one with me while I go to work, travel somewhere whenever that it is possible again, if I visit someone etc.

Yeah, a second island would be fun if it could be on the same system. I would definitely not consider getting another Switch just for a second island.

If I was in the position to even consider buying a 2nd switch, having a 2nd island in the southern hemisphere for different island ideas sounds nice. Could help people with getting desired villagers too. But in reality, there are too many costs to make worth it considering for me(plus I might just forget to play it entirely).

I definitely wouldn’t consider it. I don’t have a spare switch and I’m not about to fork out another £200+ for an extra copy of the game. I like the game, but not that much XD
