Um. no, that is not an apology. You don't "accidentally" steal a money tree. You have to eat a fruit and then specifically dig it up. Even if we give them the benefit of the doubt (they were trying to dig up a tree next to it), if it was really an accident, you'd immediately put it back where it was and apologise.
