Worried by update

It's a few hours away and I am so hopeful that there will be actual announcements of the update with hopefully more information!!

Trying not to feel worried. Stay calm! Think happy thoughts! And Wisp!

i wouldn't worry too much! as of 2hrs ago they said it won't be arriving until december 2nd, so you have time to prepare

i understand getting a game updated after so long can be nerve-wracking! but i'm sure it will affect very little. it really seems to be all about the amiibos. if you don't want to use the figures or cards, its not as if it will take anything away from the game you enjoy so much ^_^

I totally agree with this. I think their main focus is going to be the Amiibos so that players are able to get some use out of the figures, and the new cards that will be coming out in December. It would be cool for them to implement some of the new furniture from HHD, but Im not sure how likely thats going to be.

I don't think you have too much to worry about, as you do have the choice on whether to update the game or not. One thing I do love about this series is that you're able to play how you want :)

I heard that Nintendo are gonna release ambiio of villagers that weren't originally in the game for this new update in December. I'm sure that will cause a lot of chaos for traders. If they bring Woolio back I'm gonna have to buy into this, as much as I dislike ambiio and promised myself Bayonetta would be my last buy.

I saw a still of Vanessa's amiibo card, a snooty wolf that only appeared in AC Forest e+. It's totally possible Woolio makes a return if there's 50 old villagers returning.

As long as I can get the villagers I need to finally complete my main town, I'll be happy. I've had this game for three years and have yet to upload a dream address because it's been so freaking hard to get my villagers in order and I have to keep going on hiatus. Anything else is either a bonus or will be ignored entirely.

Well, the only bad things about this update are that villager adoption forums like the Bell Tree will go out of business and amiibo cards will have black market prices. But, eh.

In UK direct they said it will be available from 25th of November ;>

even with the update, I'm sure there will be plenty of people who for one reason or another will still use other people to obtain villagers. and barring the CP Isabelle one, basically every card is dirt cheap currently, and I highly doubt that's going to change anytime soon.

in fact, the cards might end up getting even cheaper, given that Nintendo reprints all in time for the update

if anything, pending how fast users can get a specific villager in and out via amiibo, it might throttle villager price averages into being way lower than they are currently

since I mean currently high-priced villagers are based on a combination of popularity+slim chance of obtaining. but if the slim chance becomes "can spawn out 20+ a day", then uh.....

this isn't how the UK works for gaming. you're not supposed to get the update until July of next year

I personally think the amiibo cards will be beneficial to some cycling threads. Not everyone wants/can purchase amiibo cards, so there's some people that will still need to adopt villagers through forums. If there's people out there who have a vast collection of amiibo cards, imagine how much easier cycling would be for those people.

If someone's lurking for a specific villager (let's use O'Hare as an example), instead of having to cycle through like 50 random villagers before O'Hare finally moves in, imagine if all you had to do was "order" the villager for the lurker through O'Hare's amiibo card. Then that specific villager is in town much quicker, and all you have to do is cycle it into boxes, and the lurker can get O'Hare at least within a day or two (depending on how often the cycler cycles), instead of having to wait a ridiculous amount of time wondering when he'll ever even show up in cycling towns.

I don't think the update would be that bad. However, I probably won't be able to experience it unless if I start playing ACNL again, which I probably wouldn't because I was like done with it for over a year.

Nintendo did make a smart decision on updating though. The amiibo cards and figurines weren't selling as well because the two games they were made for weren't doing too well.

I know, I was surprised too ;) although I like the USA dates better as you're getting Pokemon a week sooner then UK and you have time to play it properly before ACNL update. We're getting Pokemon two days before ACNL update...

If you're worried it'll ruin the game, you could wait a couple weeks to update your game (like keep the game disconnected from the internet and stuff so it can't update) and wait to see what other people say about it.
