Witches Unite!

So I mean I have seen a few people posting about on the forums about being witches and I figured I would make a thread for us all to gather! Weather you prefer being called a Pagan, or Wiccan, Sorcerer, perhaps even Fae? Any magical being gather here!

Not sure if something similar has been made before or not but I really want to meet more witches with similar interests!

YES! I know there will be people who will want to come on here and say one of two things, one of them being "Magic is not real" and second being "DEMON SPAWN BURN!" or something along those lines, not that those aren't super awesome things I totally don't hear ALL THE TIME from EVERYBODY. But please leave it out of this thread, and respect peoples given religions, thanks a lot.

I am secular and currently... not very actively practicing. I basically practice when I have things to solve. I kind of work little incantations and "tiny spells" into my everyday life though, simple things like stirring drinks and tying my shoes. This probably makes me weird, but whatever. I also use a lot of stones/crystals. I have a satchel I carry in my purse that I switch out stones for different things I need them for. My go to combo is tiger's eye and hemetite, to pull in good energy, expel the bad, and bring me good luck. What kind of things do you do?

I have a voodoo doll which I attach ppls hair to who piss me off so the voodoo will affect them and I get their hair from breaking into their house does that make me a witch??

i've always been really interested in wiccanry but never had the time or resources to look into it, it's a really intriguing concept for me and while i'm not sure to what level i believe in witchcraft and magic, i'm certainly not a skeptic
i've wanted to research it for ages now but i don't even know where to start

If a witch is what you'd like to be called then sure? But I would be careful with negative magic, it can come back to you.

There are tons of books on all kinds of history and spells and all sorts of stuff. Really its harder to not find, look anywhere, local library, there is also a large amount of it online, Like I mentioned there are a lot of different blogs and such that post about it, and I think that's a good place to start. But keep in mind there really isn't any right and wrong, there are so many different types. Looking into the history and stuff always really fascinated me though so definitely look into it.

I'm a Wiccan. I follow the Celtic pantheon and I'm not actively practicing spellwork right now. At the moment, I'm more interested in learning how to garden, so I can get into herbology and I make homemade candles for the holidays and my altar. The other reason I don't practice as much is because of the pressure put on me not to practice by my family, particularly my in-laws who actually discriminate against me because I am a witch.

And as far as books go, I highly recommend anything by Scott Cunningham, but beginners or just people who are curious should start with The Truth About Witchcraft Today, imo.

They are honestly kind of silly, but usually I make up little rhymes and things for what I do, something small and catchy so I wont forget. Like while tying my shoes I usually say something along the lines of "knot by knot, my worries forgot" to help with my anxiety as needed. As for stirring I usually go counter clockwise to bring things in and clockwise to send things out, I rarely vocalize these since it's often public but I mentally will say what I want to achieve. Like I said for me its mostly little things, the last time I really sat down and organized a spell was quite some time ago, and it was to remove a very negative person from my life and ban them from my life, it worked extraordinarily.
For the most part while I am planning the spell before doing it, I kind of already do it? If that makes any sense at all, I was going to do a love spell a while back, and wrote out all of the characteristics of the man that I wanted and then he showed up in my life before I even actually did the spell. So for me it's very strongly based on my power of will and not so much the ceremony. I LOVE the ceremony though. I really should start practicing more.

I know it's kind of taboo but I also am pretty into spirits and contacting them. They contact me too, which is both cool and terrifying.

I consider myself to be Wiccan. I'm a Solitary and an Eclectic, having picked up most of my knowledge from books. I've taken what feels right to me and cobbled together my own form. I don't cast a full circle often; most of my craft revolves around smaller magic, focused on my family and home.

I only live a few hours away from Salem, MA, and one of these days, I'd really like to go there for Samhain.

Yeah, for me it's hard to label myself because I have such a mish-mosh of tons of stuff I have picked up. And most things I do are smaller too. I don't trust myself to attempt anything bigger on my own.

Technically I do consider myself a "Witch" not a Pagan, or Wiccan. I go by Witch, and when asked my religion I will either say "I'm a Witch" or "Spiritual" depending on my audience. So I mean, I consider it a religion.
