Wii U Discussion Thread

Two advantages that the Wii U Pro Controller has over the Wii Classic Controller is its very long-lasting battery and the fact it's rechargeable. For a couple of hours or so, each recharging gives you well over 80 hours of gaming. The Wii U Pro Controller layout may be comfortable for some, but others can't stand at that. I guess you should try holding the controller for yourself and see if you like it. The controller isn't compatible on every Wii software.

I cant wait for this im a huge DKC fan

and the koopaling kids.enough said haha

I kinda regret not keeping my abilities up with monster hunter ultimate.... I have finished almost all offline quests but got stuck, so I had to redo all the challenges in online mode (and solo, since I can`t play online with others). Since that seemed boring I stopped playing and now I want to play but feel to lazy to relearn the controls well enough to beat the really hard levels online.

Ah well, Im disappointed in the WiiU, but on the other hand, I changed as a gamer and on the gamecube and N64 before that, it wasn`t much different. Its a waiting game for the first party games, which are pretty much always on the money.

For other games I have the Xbox 360, but when it comes down to it, not much great standout titles for that console either. Most of the quality games feel to much like work for me. Maybe its time to accept I`m no longer a true gamer.... I have become a casual gamer. Oh dear....

The Wii U Is the Best console I've ever owned.

Short battery life? Plug it in.

Lack of games? Hmm... Monster Hunter, Mario 3d World, Sonic Lost World, Pikmin 3 Wonderful 101, COME ON THESE GAMES ALONE SHOULD HOLD YOU OVER.

I don't really understand what people are talking about when bringing up those claims too. Like, I have my charger right next to my system. I can even plug it in while playing in my bed.

As for the lack of games, even though three of them are multiplatform (one is on PC and smartphone), I have like 19 games on my console and a bunch of virtual console games. Not to mention there are still some games I plan on getting, but don't own yet.

Does anyone here have a WiiU Pro controller? When it comes to accessory reviews they praise the controller and at times question why it wasn't just the regular one, but since gamepad battery life was brought up. I was wondering, and I also considered getting one but since that particular controllers support is hazy, Idk

I thought it was fine. I went through all of 3D World with it and no problems. (And no charging either. XD) Then again, I found the controls for Kid Icarus Uprising fine, so I guess I'm just adaptable to new controllers.

Doesn't really work for me or other people. The room with my Wii U is a big room and I'm usually in the middle of it and you have to lean against the wall looking at the TV in a strange position if you have to charge it. So I can't just "plug it in."

My dad bought my family a wii u for Christmas yet I barely touch it because it don't play Gamecube games :( :( :( I think I read somewhere they are bringing Gamecube titles to the eshop soon but that would mean I have to buy them all over again and it just doesn't seem worth it .-. Good thing Mario Kart 8 is coming soon or I'm afraid my families Wii u would barely be touched.

I couldn't find the answer to this on google so I decided to ask it here.
Is it possible to use 2 or more gamepads on a wii u? I know you can't buy a gamepad separately but if your friend had another one. I'm sure I read something about that a few months back but I didn't hear anything about it since.

Nope, something about the Wii U isn't powerful enough to handle 2 at once. And there's not any games that would use 2 anyways.

I really hope they reveal something in a Nintendo Direct next month. Like sure, NES Remix and DKCTF is fine, but I want to see more. One game that is really begging for info is Yarn Yoshi

Nintendo isn't gonna sell gamepads until there is a game that requires 2 of them, then they will prob bundle it with the game.

I got it in Christmas 2012, in anticipation for the Next Mario Kart installment. 7 months later at E3, Whopee, MK8 announced for 2014.

I have a White one, I really didnt care about the data at all, the games I play most on it atm are Super Mario 3D World, The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, and that's it... needs more games...

The only reason I might get the Wii U is for Animal Crossing (if they release it for Wii U), Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8! So many good games coming out for it...
