Why is it that when a villager requests a certain type of rare fish...you pretty much spend hours looking for it. You finally think you've found it...throw your line in the water...it nips it 3-4 times takes it under and as soon as you hit the button it disappears What the heck?!?! I'm a good fisher too! It's happened three times now. Anyone else get annoyed by this?

Never happened to me, but I would imagine it'd be frustrating. I don't think you can tell the fish though, they usually come when I least expect it.

The same reason you see villagers shaking trees but can't seem to get their own fruit. Just acnl things.

Well I know that the fish I am looking for is a large shadow, and it's in the river. There aren't too many "large" shadow fish in there. That's what I meant when I said "You finally think you've found it." :)

I guess...but it's one of the most annoying things. lol

Happen really rare to me
But only happen when I'm trying to find one for the museum

I find fishing makes me tense, and annoyed with myself when I press A before I should (or as TC says it vanishes as I press).
The sensible thing to do (& I don't/rarely do it myself!) is to keep a small stock of rare/large fish so that when a villager asks for any fish you can give them a really good one in the hope of a spotlight item or their pic.

Fishing used to be a stressful thing for me because of that, but I use a different method now and I haven't lost a fish in ages! If you plug in your headphones and close your eyes, your body tends to react more quickly to the very loud "BLOOP". When you have your eyes open, you anticipate the bloop every time the fishy goes towards the lour. I use it for relaxation now! It's a bit stressful at first learning to wait for the right bloop. But at least for me, it was waaay easier to adapt to than watching and listening. Hope this helps!

Happens to me every time.. I shed a tear of rage.

Or like painchri said,
they request a super rare bug/fish... and i'll look like a maniac running around trying to see if I see it that day. NEVER HAPPENS

They requested a Saddled Bichir...which I still need for the museum so if I were to catch it chances are I would have kept it lol

whenever a villager require a bug or fish I chose not to help cause its going to end up many hours to catch it @_@

I personally don't even bother with fish or bug requests. It switches out furniture from their house and I like to keep their houses looking good. I made the mistake of catching Bob a cicada back in my early days. At the time, I had no idea they placed it in their house. He never requested to have it switched and no matter what I gave him, he wouldn't part ways with that thinng. I couldn't go into his house; the sound drove me crazy, lol
