Why the no talking to villagers rule?

I've been seeing this a lot lately.I always follow all rules with out question but, I was just curious to know the reasons behind this one? Thanks!

I think its because after you leave, the villager talks about you non stop sometimes.

Not sure...I understand not talking to villagers who may be inside and in boxes obviously. The only reason I can see is they don't want their villagers to mention you in conversations. I, personally, love when my villagers rave about talking to visitors whether in a dream or real game time lol.

It may be an attempt to keep the villagers as "original" as possible, but I'm not sure. I wouldn't mind hearing about my visitors from them, personally.

Also there used to be a rumor that if people talk to your villagers they're more likely to move or something like that.

I like it when villagers talk about the visitors though.

This is why people don't want you talking to their villagers. To be honest, it's this insane ridiculous nitpicking that people having.

When I do turnips, I find it amusing to talk to the villagers when nobody is looking

Most probably is all about they doesn't want their villager to mention any other stranger name, villager will not move out just because other mayors talk to them lols~ I don't care and don't remember who's name my villager mention but I love when they do this =D It makes me feel like I actually have a lot of visitors haha!! and they also mentioned people they met in dream, so yea don't share you dream address too!
