So.... one day i met this hacker named eric. He seemed nice at first, until we got into an argument. He said he'd destroy my town. That night, i got a message from him. It said something along the lines of "open your gate" me being the ignorant frick that i was, i did. Then, he decided to block off everything with small stumps. I told him to unblock something, and he did. He told me to save, then i realized he blocked off even more. During this, i was in a place without my power cord, and my 3ds was dying. :( I finnaly RAN to the other room and grabbed my cord. I eventually talked him out of it, but there were tears. This didn't cause the inactivity, though. Later, i went to a friends. Some random dude showed up. He asked for me to BFF him, and i did. He then proceeded to bff msg me, "It's me. Eric." I was TERRIFIED. I instantly unfriended him, and began the inactivity.

TLDR town hacked, dude showed up again, inactivity

You are bumping too frequently. Please make sure to only bump your threads after four hours of inactivity. Thanks.

yikes. how's your town now? or did you delete it?

please, people. be cautious of who you let in your town. it seems that hackers are everywhere nowadays.

Maybe it's the untrusting old fogey in me but I just can't imagine friending someone that fast. My mind kind of drifts to the worst case scenario and reverse engineers ways to avoid that in most situations.

Coincidentally though, today I encountered my first hacker. I just recently started going to Club Tortimer to look for the exclusives, and this was only my second time trying it out. There was a guy on the island dropping millions and millions of bells for people to pick up, very very generous. I was worried about shenanigans since I've read some bad hacker stories around this forum, but luckily it was just a nice guy.

That said I'm still glad I read your story because it reminds me to stay vigilant. Who knows what the wrong hacker might do?

Yeah, after hearing the stories about nasty hackers that people meet on club tortimer (people corrupting others game files, filling pockets with mannequins, etc) I tend to be cautious about who I let into my town, and usually it?s only people on here who I trust, you definitely don?t wanna lose something that you?ve put so much time into.
Most people on here are very nice and respectful. I?d be cautious about people on club tortimer islands.

And that's the big mistake here. If someone saying things like this, I wouldn't even add this person's FC
at all and completely ignoring them. Every single second you spend with such a person is just wasted time.
In general, I would be careful when it comes to people you met these days. Sure, not everyone has those
bad intentions like that guy you met, but still. I guess meeting people here on the forums and playing with
them is much saver than on Club Tortimer for example, where lots of players reported having bad experience there.

Overall, if you ever meet a person like that guy again, who's talking about ruining your town, don't
even interacted with them. Don't add them and waste your time talking with them. Even if they say there
are just joking around, you never know if they mean it or not.

Anyway, I hope you're able to fix your town and that you never have to deal with something like this
again.
