This is in no means a thread to put myself over people or tear someone down. It is much more a way for me to get rid of all that disappointment and sadness lmao.
In New Leaf, especially in the beginning, I timetravelled quite I lot because I was very impatient and everything. It took away all my fun and motivation, so I decided to stop doing that in New Horizons. I haven't TT a single day in this game, until yesterday. Yesterday a very kind user offered me one of my dreamies, Frank. He is not too popular but he really reminds me of the Rito from BOTW, so I loved him! Lopez was in boxes, so I TT so I could give him to a friend of mine and then get Frank. Since I don't like to TT, I wanted to set the clock back to the original date once I was done. Well.. I had just bought turnips for over 1 million bells, which I now all lost to my stupidity and mindlessness.. For the next couple of weeks I will be trying to get back those bells to pay off my home laon lmao..

I still hope you all have fun with the game, regardless of whether you TT or not and I wish you the best day!

damn that sucks ;u;

i time travelled for about a week in-game and i got bored of it quickly which is likely why i won’t be time travelling again anytime soon as it sucked a lot of the joy out of the game real quick lol

This is the first time that I actually got an animal crossing game on the day of launch, and that’s why I don’t wanna time travel in it (unless it’s to move out villagers). All the other times, I’d gotten the game when majority of the players already completed what they set out to do. So in my eyes it didn’t really matter one way or another. While that never killed my motivation, I like the idea of playing at the same pace as everyone else and discovering things the same as other players.

That’s awful about your turnips :(( I had that happen to me once.

All fair points and definitely enjoy the game the way that feels right to you, i'm a serial TTer and 2 months in still having a blast decorating/hunting later seasonal DIYs then again im at home 24/7 even w/o quarantine so home/bedridden its fun to move faster^^ glad you realized a way to enjoy yourself more pacing is never ever bad for a game like this haha.

Sometimes you need to weigh up the pros and cons to decide if something is worth it.

I dislike time travelling. Any form of cheating diminishes my enjoyment of the game (not just in AC but all video games), but I did decide to TT one day forward to get Julian from Oblivia. I saw it as unlikely I'd have another opportunity to get him for free and it only required putting my clock forward a matter of hours to achieve (Lucha had been adopted earlier in the day, but his house was still there). I made sure to sell my turnips beforehand for a very small profit (31k). While I dislike cheating it was absolutely worth it on this occasion to get Julian. He's a villager I always wanted in ACNL but never had the opportunity to get hold of. ❤

i timetraveled a few times to get some villagers to move out, but otherwise i'm not time traveling, and i don't timetravel ahead to the next day once i've found someone to move in

i'm happy that i tt'd for the reason that i did, i was unhappy not having the villagers i wanted to have yet, and so now i can happily continue to play the game normally 😄 it's nice to wake up and be excited to see what's going on today in your island!

It took away all my fun and motivation
This is a pretty common reason I feel! Especially right now as everyone has a bit more free time, it's quite easy to burn out even quicker because of TT.

I'm currently time travelling to catch up with real time again (started my island again and back-dated). Then I suspect the only times I'll really do it are to speed up project builds...jump forward a day, jump back a day. It's not really an impatience thing (as I'm sure there'll be days where I just let it run its course), it's more that when you're on a roll designing or developing the island, suddenly hitting a full day roadblock is a bit of a dampener, especially if you pay off Lloid in the same minute you get the area fenced off!

I haven't time traveled for weeks now, and am really happy I have stuck with it.

Initially I did it to get a certain villager out of my town, and while I don't regret doing it, I've now committed to playing TT-free. There's something really rewarding about experiencing each day as it comes.

Any kind souls who dun mind TT let me use their island to fish and catch bugs (LF TT to North hem August/South hem February). Please DM me. You can go AFK after u let me in. There are various reasons that I m unable to TT but my urge to complete the museum is killing me. Please anyone.

It's my first time TTing in an AC game, mostly because I didn't really give it a thought with the other games. I just do it to gift my friend's favorite villagers, and I always find a way to make like a time loop to avoid spoilers and never go more forward than the month I'm in. It keeps me invested in what the future may hold for me, and I feel like a time lord with all the rules I follow.

While I try to put someone in boxes I can't:
- Go to shops
- Move buildings
- Take emotions/ speak with villagers that go after me
- Fish/ catch bugs/ selll....

Basically I just commit to moving the villager out, and then with gifts and letters, everything goes to the grabage bin so I don't have too many things. The only thing I got a little early was the Nook shop upgrade, like perhaps 3 days before my non TT friends got it. Then I play TT free, which is pretty relaxing to me. Tbf I love how my ''more serious'' TT friends enjoy moving everything around and they respect spoilers, so I feel sad when any side (non TT and TT) fight sometimes, it's supposed to be a wholesome experience, there's no competitive repercursion about it (more than oh look I have a better/ more worked island, but let's be real, with or without TTing some people just feel the need to rub things in for some weird reason; and while I agree some people can't hold spoilers, we have also dataminers doing so, so it's not only a TT issue - I actually got spoiled about some Redd aspects by a non TT user who just posted images they found online without the spoiler tag on a discord server- ). - I don't want to go off topic, just wanted to say that, I don't think anyone here is fighting about it
