Why do you want Nook mile tickets?

I only want to get Nook Mile Tickets to sell them for TBT.
At the end of the day, TBT will always be the most universal currency on this website.

I can buy almost anything with TBT, from New Leaf stuff, to art, to shiny Pokemon.

It's way easier to trade than bags of bells, especially considering that you have to and come back to get bells nowadays. So what would previously be a 15 million bell transaction that could easily happen in 15-20 min. in New Leaf now would take like countless trips back and forth between islands now, while only one trip with say 50 nook tickets.

Funny, I said pretty much the same exact thing in another thread not long ago.

It just seems like a weird endless cycle to me. I don't get why people aren't just trading villagers they don't want for TBT which can then be used for all sorts of trades, as normal, rather than use NMT to find villagers to sell for more NMTs. Maybe I'm thinking about this too much haha.

island hopping is kinda fun but I mainly want nmt because it's such a popular currency here, mostly for diy recipes or cataloging stuff

But you have to buy each ticket individually so when a price is upward of 50 tickets, I imagine it'd take just as long to buy those 50 tickets as it would to hand over that many bells?

Maybe there will be more in-game uses for NMT in the future as well. Perhaps more "expensive" islands to visit or more things added to Nook Miles shopping. At some point down the road Nintendo may want to create a huge money sink for long-time players to spend their money/miles on.

I barely use nmt except for buying things, since I’m usually broke and it’s seemingly becoming the new currency.
I’m assuming most people that are asking for nmt are doing it so they can buy villagers, or just contribute more to the nmt economy lol

I mean, it probably takes about 10-20 seconds for each ticket, so not that long. Plus, if you've gotten your NMT from trading, it doesn't need to be accessed for the kiosk and can just come from your storage/pocket.

Personally I really enjoy hunting for villagers on the islands - I've managed to find all of my dreamies I have so far that way and I don't think I'll buy the last few, just because I enjoy looking myself and the thrill of getting lucky. The islands are also a really good way of getting stone I think, as I only ever seem to get iron from my rocks :(

I was against NMT as a currency at first because it didn't seem to me as if they should really be worth as much as they are - and it still doesn't - however with the inability to carry more than 4 million bells to another island at a time, I definitely think it's a good alternative for the meantime. I'm still hoping ABD usage on other islands will be implemented though :)

I can see why NMT has become a new currency, especially for people without amiibo cards to get their dreamies... and then there's Raymond of course... I have all the amiibo cards I need, and don't want any of the new villagers, so I don't really have much of a use for the mystery islands. I find them a bit of a chore with little reward, and my main source of income is now turnips anyway.

I'm still hoping to find Genji even after 145 trips of island hopping.
For me, I prefer finding my villagers and I think it's really great when you finally find who you're looking for :)

But once you find them they're useless currency anyway, unless you'd rather hit trees on a mystery island than your own.
That's somewhat true, but not everyone has found their dreamies yet. You could also argue that NMTs are a good source of rocks, which can be hit and broken for golden nuggets.

I sold nmt a few weeks ago for 250k+ and thats how I earned most of my bells. It was in super high demand with lots of buyers in this site. Kinda glad I did then cus its not valued as much in bells now. I also found Voldemort and Chibiusa on the islands so NMT doesn’t worth as much anymore to me. As some has said before, its only valuable to those that uses it as currency to trade or island hopping.

Personally I just make tarantula islands because I'm broke.

But the economy is about cycling through valuable villagers and making a profit off of them.

I didn't really have any dreamies going into this game, the one character I knew I wanted, I had an amiibo of before I got my game. I did at first want the NMTs so I could island hop for cute villagers in general when I found out how things worked and I just wanted to make sure I didn't get any villagers I absolutely hated. So my town is like half amiibo and half randoms right now and because I got lucky with my randoms, I don't have much use for tickets. I occasionally still go to the islands for fun but I mostly get the NMTs to trade to the people who do want them. So many people have shops and ask for the tickets for items and DIYs that I do really want but have a hard time encountering and that's wear my own personal NMT demand comes from. Because it's basically currency now. Otherwise I use my miles on other things.

I bought a bunch recently because I realized I have a minor addiction to island hopping. Then again I get addicted to gacha games so this isn't that surprising lolol

I'd actually rather have bells than NMT, because I need to pay off my house!

But NMT are also useful because I have three more villager spots to fill, and dreamies to find. I dislike trading for/buying villagers, and prefer to find them myself by island-hopping. But the chances of finding Lolly, for example, (who I really want) are 1/1000. I've been lucky so far in that my dreamies have only taken a few tickets each to find, but I feel like as the pool of villagers I want shrinks, my chances are going to get worse and worse, meaning I'll need more NMT to find my remaining dreamies.

I actually don't really want nook mile tickets myself. I am a coward when it comes to gambling due to typically having poor luck so I wouldn't even attempt to island hop for a dreamie. The few rare times I actually need to go to an island to procure materials, I can handle the 2000 nook mile payment myself.

I'm at a bit of a loss though since that is the going currency these days. So it doesn't really allow me to participate in a lot of the marketplaces.
