Sometimes I will be fishing and the fish with bite a few times (like always) and then randomly decide to swim right past the bobber and or spin and start swimming in the exact opposite direction. Why do they do this? Is it normal?

This has happened a few times to me as well yeah, I think it is just that the fish are trolling us tbh

Yes it happens to me too, it can be any fish, but the rare fish do seem (to me) to do it more often. I just recast or sometimes if you wait a bit they turn around and start to bite again (but I generally recast).

yup its pretty normal, happened to me billion of times lmfao, just recast the rod like katysu said & no its not usually the rare fish who do that at least to me, I always end up catching a black bass or a sea bass, basically a common fish lmao so ye

oh yeah, I hate when that happens. Its almost the only rage inducing animal crossing daily struggle.

I call that the “Hard to catch” mechanic, it’s something Nintendo purposely implemented in the game to annoy players, and me.

Oh yeah, that's pretty random. I don't really understand why they would do so if they intend to take the bait in the first place.

It's like they know it's not actually food after nibbling it one or two times. :p

The fish are evil. They want to taunt us. Get them fish and stick them in the museum or sell them for bells in retaliation says I >:3

I hate when they do that >:[ I find that they especially do this when you are doing island tours with other people and you're trying to get the most for the highest bonus and then they do that and you're like D;<< I also hate when you cast and the bobber is RIGHT in front of them, but they for whatever reason just never see it -takes a deep breath- ;-;

Yeah I just recast everytime unless they bite again. I think it?s pretty annoying, and it has happend a million times to me but I?m used to it!
