Why didn't these trees grow?

The picture is self explanatory, it's just the layout of a small part of my town.
So did these just grow because There's too many other plants around?

You have to much stuff growing around the trees.

Chop down the trees top, bottom and right from the dead trees.
Plant New trees on the place of the dead trees. And the next day plant the old trees back.

It should work that way

Lars could be right but it could also be if you plant too many trees at once they won't all grow and some will inevitably die. this could be the case too.

Be aware there are dead spots throughout your town, too; trees cannot grow in said dead spots unless a PWP like a light post is built on that spot. From the concise layout of where you planted your trees, it doesn't look like desd spots are the problem, but it COULD be.

Dead spots don't exist. Trees and bushes have very concise rules which must be followed.

It might be possible you only need to remove the trees in that column, and replant them day by day, north to south in able to fix them.

When planting a bunch of trees near each other, you should start by planting the trees in the middle first and then work your way outward each day and then all of the trees will grow.
