Why did people hate this Year's Digital Event?

It's because Nintendo has been teasing us with things only for us to find out they're stupid party games.
Nintendo knows what we want but instead they give us spin-offs. It doesn't make sense to me...

But hype for things like AC U was totally fabricated because everyone thought it was coming. Oh were the past games four years apart? The next one MUST be coming!! Typical gullible Nintendo fans.

Exactly this, although Animal Crossing amiibo clearly mislead a LOT of people especially with there already being amiibo cards for the series. The beginning was pretty funny though lol.

You say that like it was weird for us to expect something interesting for the AC amiibos. People wouldnt be miffed off if tehy werent for something as crappy as AF

Aside from Metroid, it's kinda the fans' fault for having such high hopes for everything. New Leaf just turned 2, the development company just got done with Splatoon, and AC:HDD was teased months ago. How the hell would they have an AC Wii U trailer up and ready this soon? Even if there was a trailer, the game probably wouldn't be ready for another 2 and a half years or so.

i was hoping for anything other than happy home maker even though ill probably get it anyway lol. and I was hoping to see more of Zelda U, but nothing came up about it. I am happy about Mother being released again! I love earthbound. i tried to play it a while back on a phone emulator but i recently switched phones so now ill have to redo all of what i did.
