Why did my game date change when I put my card in another 3ds?

I had kid cat all ready and packed for someone and I saved and quit and put my ac card in my other 3ds and the date went from January to August and kid cat is now gone :c why did it do this?

The game will change based on the clock on the 3DS!

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling it might have something to do with the date registered on your 3DS (not the AC game). I remember reading threads where people were saying they used different methods to time travel in AC ( TT via 3DS date and TT via Animal Crossing date change ).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. ~

It's becasue the other 3DS had a different clock time.

Always read what Isabel tells you. Like "Hello Player, it's July 26, 2013... And the time is 11:03AM. Shall we get started?"

This way you will spot the change before loading the game destroying everything
