Why Can't I Grow This Bush Here??

I've been planting a hedgerow and like i have bushes growing allll around this spot, but in this one specific spot, the bush keeps wilting? and there's not even a rock right next to it or anything, so what's the dealio? (Where the white cosmo is on the left)

Likely because you're trying to add to a chain of 12.

I counted and you're probably right. Where I'm trying to add, it'd be the 13th bush

Yes, sadly, no more than 12. Even if you take out the corner bush, the two left would touch diagonally, and that counts, too. x.x
