Why ask for a cedar sapling of all things?

Okay, so Angus is currently in my campsite. I'm not a really big fan of his but I have a very unbalanced male/female villager ratio. So I'm trying to get more males to move in.

In my inventory I have a slingshot, a pit fall seed, 3 unassessed fossils, a hat, 3 shirts, a pair of pants, a ruby, a cedar sapling, some black roses, some yellow cosmos, a pair of shoes and an axe.

I go into the campsite and we talk and blah blah then he makes the hint that he wants to move in. I tell him to move to town. He said if I win, he'll move to town, but if I lose, he'll take my cedar sapling. Okay, first of all, I don't know I'm still holding this cedar sapling when I was supposed to plant it yesterday and second off, what is he going to do with a cedar sapling? Villagers asks for the most random things.

Hi, everyone, it's me again, back with my random posts. :)

For me, it feels like the villagers on the campsite always ask for the things in your pocket which
is "important" for you or what you need the most from all the other things which you carry around.
Whenever a villager was on my campsite, he or she asked for either a item which I just got for myself,
for my tools (for some reason mostly my shovel) or, like in your case, a sapling which I just wanted to
plant. Since it got a little bit annoying, I make always sure that, when I want to invite a villager from
the campsite, my pockets are either empty or that I just carry stuff with me where I don't care if
I lose to the villager. It's works since I do that. ^^

I had Alice in my campsite and tried to move her in. The first time I asked she said she didn't wanna leave her town. The second time she said the same as you only she wanted my wet suit if I lost(not gonna happen). I tried several more times but she wouldn't pick anything else. Yes I could've taken the wet suit out of my bag but I took it as a sign she wasn't meant to live in my town. Oh well.

Also I wonder how big the pool of villagers who can be in your campsite is because I have had Flora at least 3 times.

Yeah, I probably should have cleared my inventory before talking to him. LOL. But the funny thing is the cedar sapling wasn't the most important thing I needed in my inventory, the slingshot is. This game really likes to troll us, doesn't it? LOL

That must have been annoying. Yeah, after a few tries, it's like 'fine, you don't want to live in this awesome. You're loss." lol. Like Perilouise said, it does seem like they ask you for the most important thing in your inventory. And a wet suit is pretty important, especially for town exclusive deep sea creatures.

And good question. I've never had the same villager twice in my campsite

Yeah, I think this game really likes to troll you sometimes. Like a while ago, Chief was on my campsite and I wanted to invite him since I didn't had a cranky villager at that time. Whenever the question about moving into my town came up, he wanted to play paper, scissors, rock with me. I think I played over 5 times with him paper, scissors, rock and I always lost. ._. I lost my shovel and a few random items because of this, lol. At the end, I finally won once. But at this time, I really felt trolled, especially since I thought it would be easy to win, but I guess I was complety wrong at that point, lol.

Better then him asking for your hybrid flowers, I guess? I never bother with the campers, especially because I have 10 villagers as it is and even if I like one that is in the campsite, I never can get them to move in. The campsite is so pointless now that amiibos are so readily available.

I think one of the campers asked for my tools before. But I just caught my first Stringfish ever and Walker pings me. Of course he wants the fish and he wants to give a shirt. Learn the value of things, you stupid dog! Abooga booga booga!!!

I got boone to move in by the camp ground but he mostly asked for my infinite perfect apple basket.

I love Angus.

I currently have Rodeo in my campsite.
I may get his card and boot Stu out.
